Same mom that kept pushing for the national guard (lol the absurdity at even typing this…) keeps going on and on about how normal and great her kids school is going, so why should they worry about schools that are having operational problems when her kids school is oso perfect? Beyond tone deaf but this lady isn’t bright. However, she speaks at every single school board meeting she can, so her idiocy might reach someone’s ears. |
Seriously??? You sound like an simple-minded moron. Poor, middle class, upper middle class and even rich parents rely on buses. My neighbors are doctors. They leave before their middle school kids go to school. If the bus doesn't come, it causes disruption to the kids, the parents, the patients, the teachers. . . . Not everyone stays home to do Pilates all day. |
The county has requested that Hogan activate National Guard troops to drive our buses. And to imagine people complained about having school resource officers in schools. Now they may have troops driving buses. |
Hogan already said no yesterday. Probably because it’s possibly the stupidest idea he’s come across yet. Yes. I know Massachusetts is doing it, but it doesn’t make it a brilliant solution just because someone else is doing it. “All hands on deck” doesn’t mean calling the National Guard to drive your kids to school. |
well, MCPS still has buses not picking up kids, and MA has. So... |
are there stories of MA kids being harmed by the National Guard driving the school buses? |
You are the idiot. I've never spoken at a board meeting. If your school is having operational issues, then they should go virtual. But yea, not ALL schools are having serious issues enough to go virtual. That's why MCPS is looking at the schools case by case. Get it? You're the dumb one, and probably don't know how to manage a large project. You are paralyzed with fear, and your anxiety probably rubs off on your kids. I feel sorry for your kids. |
The National Guard isn’t going to arrest your high school kid if they mouth off on the bus. |
Not sure why you think every family in Montgomery County has an SUV and a spare parent to drive it twice a day. |
There are enough SUVs in Montgomery County for people to carpool their kids. You all bought those cars with the third row for *something.* Use it. |
Who is "you all"? There are a lot of parents who don't drive large suvs with a 3rd row, myself included. You think Title 1 schools have a ton of parents with a 3rd row suv? |
From my own experience, yes. But it's not title 1 parents who are screeching and whining about this, either. Their kids know what a bus is. |
? what? I'm pretty sure UMC kids whose parents have a large suv know what a bus is, too. Your post makes zero sense. Actually, the bus shortage issue has hit eastern county the most, ie, where there are a lot more Title 1 schools. |
A public bus, Dorothy. Perhaps you don't notice them because they don't stop on your cul-de-sac. |
Not only do I not live in a cul de sac, but I, my spouse and my kids have all taken a public bus at some point. My kids have taken the ride-on bus by themselves. But did you know that the MoCo is having a bus driver shortage, too? BTW, I grew up lower income, in a large school district, larger than MCPS, and I always walked to school. No free school buses where I grew up. |
