Do you think APS will close Wednesday too?

Roads surrounding schools are not plowed. We walked by tuckahoe an hour ago and the parking lot was a mess! How would a delay help that?

No, that would be doing something useful and helpful instead of just incessant complaining.

There is a chance I might even respect them.

+1. A few teachers at our school are now out of quarantine thanks to the snow days and will now be able to teach once schools open again.

+2 If it was gonna happen at all, this is the perfect week for it to happen.

Same. Chuckling at the folks who thought they’d land from vacay and shuffle their kids out of their hair. Also relieved ours isn’t confined them atm.

Yup.

We can walk to school. But many of the other students cannot. I’d love school to open, understand why it’s not yet. Do hope tomorrow proves better in clearing sidewalks, roads, lots.

No excuse for schools not to have virtual classes on snow days. They had all the time in the world to prepare. All this talk about doing all they can to catch kids up on material missed last year…

Yum so I’m an Aps teacher who lives in Fairfax and I don’t have power. So Um maybe it is an excuse? But im freezing and my fingers barely type and my kids have no food cause the fridge went bad and I have no access to video and I’ve been in my car today with my kids charging phones and getting warm and so I think that is my excuse….
But you soldier on with your there is no excuse and I will be here with no heat and my kids and the car. Yeah.

I definitely want schools to open ASAP, but would not make my elementary kids sit on an iPad during a snow day. They’ve been through enough the past year, they deserve to at least have fun if they cannot be physically in school. Virtual school is so wildly age inappropriate for many of the youngest students. If they do virtual, it should be 4th grade and up at the earliest. Maybe just MS and HS.

Funny because we just prolonged our stay when we saw the weather report. At this point we’ll just wait and drive back this weekend. I’ve seen others on FB doing the same. A friend who was already in FL stayed for some time at Disney.

Yes, literally the house next to the school, and they have a kid at the school too. Shame on you if you are reading this!

NP I’m so sorry. I hope your power is back on soon.

I know a few who are stuck in tropicla locales so they will still be getting off planes and into schools.

I’m more concerned about Thursday and Friday. I’ve nearly run through all of our sitters, other parent is away and am working through weekend. This is killing my childcare budget.
