Do you think APS will close Wednesday too?

Then you should have complained to the School Board when this snow policy came out a few months ago. We all knew they would not go virtual on snow days until they hit 5 days.

Are you ok with pulling out dusty asynchronous work? Because as far as I can tell we were all on winter break until Monday. I DO NOT expect or want teachers to be working over break. They need to catch their breath. They already do enough on their free time.

Dominion said this was one of the top 5 worst storms in its history. People still without power. It is what it is!

I suggest staying off DCUM, then. Maybe go that work instead.

Do that work! Sorry… I’m pretty sick of people on these boards talking about how stressed and overwhelmed they are, yet they have the time to post here.

Chill out and go make your kids read a book.

It’s 8:30pm. My office is closed. I work in person. Also you sound like my redneck aunt that no one responds to on social media. That you, Auntie Deb?

I thought people from the Midwest were supposed to be nice, you seem like kind of a jerk.

Anyway ... I'm from New England, where we are all proudly jerks, but we also tell it like it is. And there is no need for the Midwest snow removal infrastructure to exist in the DMV, where we get a shut down snowstorm only every few years. (Don't start in on closing school when it rains, that's just dumb, we know). So sit down and have a fking beer, kid, because it's gonna be a second before the snow melts.

+1 I’m from Colorado and don’t expect this area to be able to handle snow like places that get it more frequently. We also get so much ice here, it’s harder to deal with than lots of snow.

Sounds like someone needs to start demanding that government provide a better social safety net, including childcare, which is not what school is.

It snows frequently enough and we know it causes major problems with even a moderate amount of snow - look at the I-95 backup. I can't stand that people around here just throw up their hands and say "It's the mid-Atlantic, we're terrible at handling snow".
