Series that really tugged at your heart or mostly heart-warming

Anonymous wrote:OP, heartwarming is such an individual thing and like trying to catch lightning in a bottle. What has worked for me:

"Parks and Recreation" (keep watching, it gets better after season one when some characters change). Really sweet friendships and romances.

For me, a very heartwarming show though it might not seem like it is "Psych." Comes on as a goofy motormouthed annoying man-boy show but over time and close watching, there are a lot of devoted relationships and one of the best (though very underrated!) non-romantic, female-male partnerships/mentorships/friendships on TV. Takes time to get there (and again, keep watching, things grow a lot after season one, and the pilot is one of the least good episodes-it's not bad! but just skip to episode 2).

YES! Psych is such a good recommendation. The friendship between Gus and Shawn is so lovely and great, and I love seeing Shawn and his dad's relationship develop. I am mixed on the romantic relationships.

Parks and Rec, too. Skip season 1.

PP to whom you're replying. Yes! Shawn and Gus are amazing together -- brothers, more than friends. I know people who didn't keep watching because they didn't like "how Shawn treats Gus" in the earliest episodes, but they missed so much. The show, surprisingly for a supposed comedy, really lets relationships develop if one watches for that aspect. Lassiter and O'Hara's relationship as professional partners develops and deepens so much over the eight seasons (that's what I'm referring to above about a non-romantic relationship) and is one of my favorite things on TV.

You probably already know this but since Psych ended in 2014 there have been two Psych TV movies in 2017 and 2020, and....

the new movie, "Psych 3: This Is Gus," will premiere on Peacock streaming on November 18!

Can't wait. Seeing more of an increasingly stronger Lassiter in each movie is all I want.

Hello fellow Psych-o! I really enjoyed the first two movies - flawed, yes, but so enjoyable still - and I had no idea we were getting a third soon! Thank you for the tip!!

Fellow Psych-O, here's the trailer for the third movie. Enjoy! "I'm back--drink it in!"

That trailer is very promising! You know that's right!!

Dr Who - also remake - was also really good

I see BG recommended here but I never know which version is the good one.

Watch the remake. The first 3.5 seasons are truly exceptional. I don’t think I would describe the show as heartwarming though.

Which is the remake? What year or actor, so I can identify the right one?

The one from the early 2000s with Edward James Olmos. It’s amazing.

This was a great series with lots of familiar faces. I’ve never known anyone else who watched it. Maybe it hit too close to home for the workaholics.

I watched it and loved it. Lots of teen drama, though, and I don’t know if that’s what OP is looking for.

FNL & Gilmore Girls had much teen drama too.
