When people recommend this, I always have to add Episodes. They gave me similar vibes with Episodes older actors and more work place oriented. Both better than expected. |
Cute but not really heart-warming or tugging I’d say. Obviously nowhere near the CLOY level. |

This seems a bit too Hallmark channel. But I’ll give it another chance (lots of seasons!). |

It’s a bit syrupy sweet but not bad. I’m actually enjoying the last 2 seasons without the kids. Especially Abigail, she’s got a bite! |
| Sex Education. It may be too raunchy for some, but the friendships are really special. The main straight male character has a gay best friend (who is completely awesome) and it makes me happy to see wonderful platonic relationships where to guys are not afraid to hug. My favorite character is Maeve who is spunky and incredibly smart and we'll read with a drug addict mom, and I'm rooting for her to pull herself out of trailerpark life. |
this is a good answer! I also like The End of the F*** World, set in more or less the same landscape of contemporary 80s teen movie, British-Americanish world, although it is a bit darker. |

Navillera. It's Korean, on Netflix. Such a beautiful little drama. I laughed and cried all the way through. You will love it, and it will stay with you.
Seriously, skip every other suggestion on this thread and go watch Navillera. |

OP, heartwarming is such an individual thing and like trying to catch lightning in a bottle. What has worked for me:
"Parks and Recreation" (keep watching, it gets better after season one when some characters change). Really sweet friendships and romances. For me, a very heartwarming show though it might not seem like it is "Psych." Comes on as a goofy motormouthed annoying man-boy show but over time and close watching, there are a lot of devoted relationships and one of the best (though very underrated!) non-romantic, female-male partnerships/mentorships/friendships on TV. Takes time to get there (and again, keep watching, things grow a lot after season one, and the pilot is one of the least good episodes-it's not bad! but just skip to episode 2). |
