Series that really tugged at your heart or mostly heart-warming

I just re-watched Offspring. So much love.

Love love this show.

Yes! I wasn’t expecting to love it so much but it is literally the definition of heartwarming! Still find myself thinking about the characters.

I cannot watch this show because I find it too dark.

Schitt's Creek is #1 for me

I can't watch Ricky Gervais. I find him appalling.

I, too, was addicted to news pre-pandemic - either political or sports. But I don't watch anymore. I just read news or listen to a few podcasts. Heartwarming shows for me are Judging Amy and Ghost Whisperer but really what I do to get my heart tugged is listen to country music (something I had stopped doing for more than a decade after grad school).

Derry Girls. Finale of Season 1 was a pretty perfect half hour of TV.

I’m not a RG fan but the premise of the show forces you to feel sorry for him. The first season was pretty great. Then the 2nd season was just too much for me.

I've been rewatching Derry Girls and it's just as funny and charming as it was the first time.

Not on all time great list, but pandemic era great: Hacks and Love Life (both HBO).

Hope you come back here-- Are you referring to watching "Judging Amy" back in the day, in broadcast, or do you have some way you watch it now? I'd love to find it.

I never saw it when it aired. I've scoured the internet for DVDs and only found bootlegs in the US. Sold on Amazon etc. as if legit, and shown with nice packaging, but apparently are bad copies, filmed directly off people's TV screens then copied to DVDs--thank goodness I didn't buy any. And one season on DVD from Denmark, so wrong format for the US!

It also does not stream anywhere. that I can locate. At all.

I've resorted to watching truly horrible copies on YouTube. If you know any way to stream the series that's legit, or you know any way to get actual DVDs that aren't dodgy -- please let me know. I'm very willing to pay for real DVDs or legit streaming but this show's become a unicorn....Many thanks.

Not PP but this was such a good show. I stalked “Everwood” back in the day and watched it on bootleg DVDs. Eventuality it came to Hulu and zero people watched it. But i thought it had some really touching seasons and story arcs.

I"m the PP seeking "Judging Amy." I'll have to check out "Everwood" someday -- I recall friends saying (when it was on) that they liked it. Thanks--though I suspect it's now another unicorn show....

It's amazing that no one has realized there's a market for these older (90s-early 2000s) "heartwarming" shows like "Everwood," "Judging Amy," "Early Edition" (another one I'd recommend and another one that's very hard to find all of on legit DVDs and it does not stream!).

Meanwhile, still seeking "Judging Amy," PP at the top, if you have any ideas!
