Not my cup of tea, but jfc, can’t Arlington tolerate a handful of semi-dissenting voices on an issue or two? Does everyone have to march in lockstep? |
I admit I haven’t read this whole thread, but in regards to “APE”… I resent their name. I’m an Arlington parent. I am “pro” education- aren’t we all?- and I’m am not about their agenda.
Schools are open. It’s over. PTA. It’s the PTA now. |
APE forming as a solidarity movement, fighting against what they believe to be unfair, wrong and damaging rhetoric and policy from management of a organization, while also in the past raging against groups like AEA and calling them the "problem" as well will always be irony lost on them. |
APE has called for no masking outside in the past, I think. They have a whole section about test to stay on their website. They previously also pushed 3 ft distancing vs 6 ft distancing last spring. As for CRT, what is there to have a position about? It’s a manufactured controversy with the goal of dividing communities. History (unvarnished, not white washed) should be taught in schools in age appropriate ways. This isn’t an “official” view of course because I’m an anonymous internet commenter and you should get information more legitimate sources. I suggest you sign for the ape newsletter to learn more: www.arlingtonparentsforeducation.org. If there’s an issue you care about that you think they should advocate on they are always listening and may look into it and advocate. |
I guess the irony is lost on me too because I have no idea what you’re alluding to either. |
huh? |
So answer the question yourself APE. You’re a public group and your members have the above opinions and have stated them. |
APE won’t answer.
Very telling. They have a crazy base but they don’t want to admit they have these views, |
OMG APE won’t engage internet trolls on an anonymous Internet forum! They’re pretty transparent on the issues if you just subscribe to the newsletters. |
We won’t answer but we’re so transparent. Sure. |
+1 |
I'm not a troll and I don't want to join the newsletter just to understand their positions. Is there an archive of the newsletters that is public? Why is it so difficult to share APE's position on masks, screening, CRT, vouchers? |

I’m saying join the PTA! |
APE's Launch Party/Celebration is tomorrow night from 6:30-8:30 pm. Please reach out to the APE email address at arlingtonparentsforeducation@gmail.com if you're interested in coming. There will be many APS parents and notable people from Arlington there.
It's going to be a great event. 1 of many social events we have. |
