Am I missing something? The APE page seems to focus on a few issues - getting kids back to and keeping them in school, ensuring that learning loss is addressed, and making sure that educational approaches are evidence-based. I haven't seen any evidence of an anti-mask, anti-race theory, anti-trans sentiment? I'm a pretty crunchy, pinko liberal, and my spidey sense isn't really going off here. I'm guessing that these are a bunch of slightly high-strung parents that want to see their high-achieving kids not lose their competitive edge over kids from parts of the country and privates where schools remained open.
Great questions. What is APE's position on masking, screening/testing, CRT, etc.?
Crickets from APE here. Telling.
I think you have to wait longer than 20 minutes before you call crickets. It’s a rule.
Yes, it's very telling. Telling that they have something other than message board stalking going on in their lives. -Not APE or AEM. Just here for the entertainment of you loons (both sides)
Still crickets. So I'll just go ahead and assume what APE's members have already said their positions are: anti masks anti screening testing anti quarantines anti equity initiatives pro school vouchers
Check out the platform here: https://www.arlingtonparentsforeducation.org/ and join the facebook group to learn more. You can also catch public comments at school board meetings when speakers identify themselves as APE like they did yesterday.
Were those official APE spokespeople?
They were authorized by APE to speak on APE's behalf. They were a few of our numerous volunteers and members. For those who are interested, please join our Facebook group to see about important APS analyses and APE social events.
What is APE's position on masking, screening/testing, CRT, etc.?
APE has called for no masking outside in the past, I think. They have a whole section about test to stay on their website. They previously also pushed 3 ft distancing vs 6 ft distancing last spring. As for CRT, what is there to have a position about? It’s a manufactured controversy with the goal of dividing communities. History (unvarnished, not white washed) should be taught in schools in age appropriate ways. This isn’t an “official” view of course because I’m an anonymous internet commenter and you should get information more legitimate sources. I suggest you sign for the ape newsletter to learn more: www.arlingtonparentsforeducation.org. If there’s an issue you care about that you think they should advocate on they are always listening and may look into it and advocate.
