Lots of local gyms opened today. What was it like? Did you feel comfortable? Did you take a class? How many patrons did you see? What time of day?
[And yes, we all know some of you will not return unless there's zero covid and all vaccine, but your comment isn't going to be useful so maybe resist your the impulse] |
| Get those germs spread! Good job society |
| I think that gyms as we know them are on their way out. They will be reinvented in some way because the current model is going to lose too many people. All of those people who pay for gym memberships but never go are going to stop paying and those people are a gym's bread and butter. |
I did a walk through. It kind of creeped me out. Staff wore masks. I wore a mask. Another lady wore a mask. The rest of the people and it was a lot of people did wear a mask. |
Correction, 99% of the people in the gym did not wear a mask It is not required by my Governor. |
You really shouldn't be wearing a mask while exercising. I can understand if it bothers you to go to the gym, but it's not the smartest idea to wear a mask while working out. |
| I saw a picture of my gym. I'm amazing that even after Covid, people are still holding onto the machines. If a pandemic won't teach you to keep your hands off, nothing will. Although they're not breaking very hard, so there's that I guess. |

OP: “Did you go? What was it like?”
Next 6 responses: “I didn’t go but here’s my dumb opinion about it anyway.” Me: I went. They took my temperature up front. Gave me a spray bottle and cloth to wipe equipment. About 15 people there. I worked out. It was satisfactory. I shall return. |
| Disgusting place to be right now |

Are gyms going to be required to release people from their contracts if they are no longer comfortable going?
Seems ripe for some type of legal action. |
The whole temperature taking thing is not particularly effective screening, since an estimated third of COVID-19+ people don't get fevers. |
I'm a PP who did a walk through. I'd be much more comfortable with temp checks. |
Agree. The current gyms are: - Too ugly - Too boring - Too limiting - Too smelly - Too confining. They need to be more: - Fun! = they should have trampolines, climbing walls, Big toothpick fight rinks, - Accommodating - People go to the gym because they don't have one at home, don't want one at home but still want to exercise, socialize, show off and meet people and run safely or do thing safely and not alone. For this The whole belly of gym should be gutted and replaced with fun spaces as per above and the top should have a terrace that could open on four sides and fresh air could be let in. inside lots of long running tracks on many levels! and also on the top terrace a running space all around. Yeah baby! Fresh air, fun, and more fun. Oh and also REGULAR sitting café in every gym, so people can sit down and chat like it is 2019! |
Let's face it, you never went to a gym regularly before covid, either. |
LOL! All of these posters with opinions never went to the gym anyway! |
