Gym reopening - what was it like?

I was going heavy squats today with a n 95 and almost hyperventilated because it was so crazy hot crushing my legs

Seems ripe for some type of legal action.

I froze my membership 'till September and it will automatically cancel then if I don't renew.

Do y’all wear masks at the gym when you’re actually working out? I want to go use the treadmill, but don’t really want to wear one while running (of course I will walking in and out).

They did temp checks at the door and asked me a bunch of questions about possible exposure. The rule is that you have to wear a mask while you're not exercising and as far as I could tell everyone was following it. Every other cardio machine was powered down to enforce social distancing. I disinfected my machine after using it, and then they came around behind me and did it again.

I felt totally safe and will continue to go, as long as they continue to be diligent about cleaning and distancing. I use the treadmill, but I'm not sure I'd be comfortable using weights.

Interesting because I am comfortable going back to lift but not to do cardio. With wights you touch more surfaces but in eh cardio are there is more heavy breathing.

Me: I went. They took my temperature up front. Gave me a spray bottle and cloth to wipe equipment. About 15 people there. I worked out. It was satisfactory. I shall return.

Did they have windows and doors open? Did they have anything outside, say, group classes on the roof or in a back patio? Did you see staff cleaning behind you? Are they allowing showers or steamroom use? Did you see any trainers working with clients?

DP.

Did they have windows and doors open?
- front doors have been propped open

Did they have anything outside, say, group classes on the roof or in a back patio?
- not at my gym, but I've seen others hold classes outside (YMCA). I think some facilities have different property and code restrictions

Did you see staff cleaning behind you?
- Yes, staff are always cleaning it seems. And most people seem to be good about wiping after use (though that doesn't seem to be how covid is really spread)

Are they allowing showers or steamroom use?
- I don't think any place is allowing sauna at all. Showers, yes, but I shower at home.

Did you see any trainers working with clients?
- yes, of course. Trainers have bills to pay. They have always worn masks and gloves, from my observations.
