And that’s NOT helping the abortion industry.
Oops.

+1 Because it IS their baby--God's creation--growing inside its mom.

My religious beliefs say that a soul doesn’t enter a baby until the quickening, around 20 weeks. Up until then the
fetus a simply a carapace and not an ensouled person. That’s my religious freedom to believe that and you can’t deny me my religious freedom. Therefore your attempt to force me to carry an unwanted pregnancy does not have legal standing.

Soul or not, it's a growing baby inside its mom.

So? Mom gets bodily autonomy. Baby doesn’t.

Ok. And some aren’t wanted. It’s very sad, but reality.

PP here. Yes. You're absolutely right, although what I wrote is also true.

If it were a fact, you’d be able to prove it. At best, it’s a strongly held personal belief. Why should your strongly held personal beliefs override mine or anyone else’s?

Except the “gods creation” part was just your opinion.

The baby was a creation of the mother’s egg and father’s negligent ejaculation.

When roe is overturned, will we still need this thread?

Dp. Thank you for sharing this. Do you mind telling me which religion? Just interested in learning.

Why do you think Roe will be overturned? I know the decisions were very poorly written but, am interested in your view? I see it's validity based on 14th amendment as pretty solid.

A better argument IMHO is the freedom of religion. Isn't "life begins at conception" a religious, Christian belief? Why should a law based entirely on religious beliefs dictate what someone else does not believe in? That whole separation of church and state thing, remember?

Not PP. But the Christian Bible definitely differentiates between live human beings and fetuses. Look at Exodus where the punishment for causing someone to have a miscarriage is just a fine and the punishment for killing a person is death. Of course, the Old Testament is viewed differently by many but nothing in the New Testament refutes the fact that an unborn fetus was viewed to be less than a full human until it is either born or 'quickens.'

It looks like anyone who is pro-life is not welcome in the Democratic Party. "Big tent party" my A$$.

The head of the House Democrats’ campaign arm has cancelled plans to fundraise for Rep. Dan Lipinski — one of the party’s last remaining anti-abortion stalwarts — after facing fierce backlash from the party’s left flank.

Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.) announced Wednesday that she is pulling out of next month’s fundraiser in her home state, as a slew of new anti-abortion laws in predominantly Republican states have catapulted the issue to the forefront of national politics and, likely, the 2020 election.

“I’m proud to have a 100 percent pro-choice voting record and I’m deeply alarmed by the rapidly escalating attacks on women’s access to reproductive care in several states,” Bustos said in a statement. “I’ve determined that I must cancel my participation in this event."

The abrupt course reversal by the first-term chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is a sign of the enormous weight that the House’s progressive wing carries — as well as the fragile balance for House Democratic leaders as they attempt to preserve a sprawling new majority made up dozens of centrists.

Thanks for the explanation. There is a big developmental difference between conception, quickening (when the baby moves, right?) and birth. This was the first time I have ever heard about the timing of when the soul is believed to enter a baby. Thanks again.

I found this discussion on how Jews view the soul and fetuses to be interesting.
