Trump Threatens to Shutdown Government if No $ for his Border Wall

Why didn’t he start building the wall as soon as he was inaugurated?

Because originally the Wall was going to be part of a DACA legislation fix. Trump can stick to his guns now because of the caravan, and Kavanaugh. His approval rating is holding steady in the low 40's which is pretty much as good as it ever has been. A few more murders of sweet college co-eds and police officers by illegals and not only will he get his wall, he will have a solid lock on re-election in 2020. Because you see, in polling, people can "disapprove" of Trump, but that doesn't mean the same thing as "I won't vote for him in 2020 under any circumstances." Your front runner Elizabeth Warren is such an idiot (despite being a Harvard Law Professor) she didn't realize claiming to be a mock Cherokee and then attacking Trump for correctly pointing out that she's a liar, wasn't a very good strategy for her. It exposes her as a dope. No one other than a Warren true believer is ever going to vote for her now. What is that--5%? Bernie is a washed up Commie who basically agreed to be HRC's bitch in 2016. HRC will be a catastrophe if she tries to run again. Beto is a drunk driving ethno-phoney just like Warren. You idiots really energized Trump's base with the Kavanaugh nonsense. I myself was going to vote Democrat in the midterms just to send a message as I was getting irritated with Trump's chaotic management style. However the Kavanaugh b.s. swayed me back to vote a straight Republican ticket. The Democrats have elected into office multiple outright anti-Semites which may result in a significant amount of ultra liberal Democrat Jews secretly pulling the lever for Trump in 2020 (and of course never admitting it). Impeaching Trump will accomplish nothing other than opening the door for his team to conduct a very intensive and excruciating investigation of all the misconduct by deep state operators such as Comey and Brennan (and as typified by Reid Hoffman's involvement in the phoney Russian bot false flag operation in the Alabama Senate election.) But go ahead--have a few more antifa and BLM riots, go on a few more Women's Marches with anti-American, anti-semitic, anti-white leadership in place, nominate one of your nut job socialists in 2020 (or HRC) and then get a jumbo size of Kleenex for all the crying you'll be doing on Election Night in 2020.

I stopped reading after your gleeful anticipation of more murders of college co-eds and policemen. Gross.

Ah, all Trumpsters know and accept that their dear leader never takes responsibility for anything that is a negative, even if he lies and says he will.

Yeah, it's really unfortunate when your guy has a wicked combination of poor impulse control, no filter whatsoever, and an addiction to hogging the spotlight. Everything really does get logged for posterity.

Last poll I saw, the actual frontrunner was "someone else." So it's way too early to make prediction based on today's top names.

I don't think that would try to stop anyone from the distraction sideshow. Anything to keep everyone's eyes away from what's really important right now. Hmmm.

Well, that money can now be sent to Mexico, as they will most likely need it.

The US gave Honduras $181m last year - not in liquid assets (to prevent theft) but in the form of training and resources. Clearly, this help hasn't done any good, as the poorest of the poor are trying to leave. So we either readjust our priorities and use the support for the poorest in those countries, or we cut the aid and use it for our own poor.

I prefer the latter.

Another, bigger migrant caravan is set to leave from Honduras next month

Garrido said this new, larger caravan will probably be joined by more people in El Salvador and in Guatemala, but she said they don’t plan on coming straight to the Tijuana-San Diego border, where resources are already stretched nearly to a breaking point.

“They will stay in the south of Mexico in Chiapas and Oaxaca. Their aim is to request work there,” she said.

Short sighted trumpian logic with no concept of American soft power or Pax Americana. International relations is all zero sum transactional relations with you people. Oh well, it was nice when America lauded its intellectuals instead of hoisting its simpletons to the upper echelons of governance in furtherance of a kakistocracy.

Pax Americana is synonymous with Big Brother. If you can't see how our ego got in the way as we continued to "assist" the world, then you're too far gone. the more you give the more dependent people become. If that's your idea of a peaceful measure, then good for you.

I don't believe in enabling.

And certainly you can't blame all of this on Trump. I didn't vote for him, but he's here and he's a symptom of people's frustrations rising to the top. So instead of caring for our poor taxpayers, we continue to control through international "aid."

I fail to see how anyone BUT the rich benefits.

That’s literally how America rose to prominence. We give aid to other countries then dictate the terms of the money. We lose our soft and hard power by not doing that. We lose our, as you would call it, “American exceptionalism”. Then again, you’re probably a Russian paid spammer looking to ensure America’s role in the world recedes.

America rose to prominence because of free markets and abundance of natural resources.

We were ahead of everyone in tech in 80’s when the 1990 immigration visas did not exist.

Immigration of guest workers has had a negative impact on our growth while giving more profits to the elite. Robber barons are alive and well in zuckerberg

Haha. And you say you are only against ILLEGAL immigration.

DP here.

Its not uncommon for people in the tech industry to have trained their replacements. If that is not an indicator that immigration needs reform I don't know what is.

You depress wages at the low and and the high end, surely that builds wealth for American workers.

So you are against LEGAL immigrants too? Just want to be clear.

I still don't understand why Americans have to pay for Trump failing on his campaign promise of Mexico paying for the wall.

I'm not necessarily against the concept - but that's $5 billion on us, instead of Trump's repeated assertions that American's wouldn't foot the bill.

Trump shot himself in the foot by saying he would take the blame for the shutdown. Also by changimg his mind, first he would forego the wall then he insisted on it. Schumer is not scheming. Trump is negotiating with himself and losing

Of course.. when Obama was president, the shutdown was Obama's fault. Now, that Trump is POTUS, it's the liberals' faults. LOL

In a September 2013 Fox & Friends phone interview, Trump blasted Obama for failing to "get everybody in a room."

"If you say who gets fired, it always has to be the top. Problems start from the top, and they have to get solved from the top, and the president’s the leader, and he’s got to get everybody in a room, and he’s got to lead. And he doesn’t do that, he doesn’t like doing that, that’s not his strength."

Trump also said that further down in history "when they talk about the government shutdown, they’re going to be talking about the president of the United States, who the president was at that time. They’re not going to be talking about who was the head of the House, the head the Senate, who’s running things in Washington. So I really think the pressure is on the president."

Trump also took to Twitter before, during and after the shutdown to voice his opinion, agreeing with users that it would never happen if he were president and that Obama had "failed to lead."

FACT – the reason why Americans have to worry about a government shutdown is because Obama refuses to pass a budget.

Leadership: Whatever happens, you're responsible. If it doesn't happen, you're responsible

They should just tell him that some rich dude in Texas decided to fun the wall and started working on it already, take a few photo ops, include smiling Mexicans in it working on the Fake Wall, he'll post it on twitter and government shutdown over! Then Fake flight to the Border(but actually to the Great Wall of China...) because he can't tell the difference anyway.
