how is the WCAC crowning their champion this Spring?
Regular season plus a year end playoff? Regular season only, play everyone twice or once? My son plays for an IAC team so curious how the WCAC structured the Spring season. Thanks! |
| Just playing games. Their won’t be an official champion unless Gonzaga wins it. Kind of like they did with FB. Basically the season is for seeding of the WCAC/IAC DMV Championship. |
WCAC let two of the weakest programs decide the fate of the playoffs. Crazy |
| Huh? |
Let me get this straight... the WCAC is not crowning a champion for the Spring 2021 season.. the teams are simply just playing one another in "friendly" matches. No WCAC end of season playoffs. As for the Corrigan year end WCAC/ IAC challenge... what teams have even committed to play in it as it will be in June and most teams will have already be out on summer break. |

The WCAC/IAC Challenge is unlikely to happen, or it will not have full participation from the IAC.
Likely Bullis will play in it - if they win, they will declare themselves Champions of the Universe even if they end up losing 2-4 games in the IAC. but I do not suspect Prep, Landon, of SSSA will play in it. Prep and Landon will have long since graduated and school will be closed. |
|
Bullis will 100% play in it.
They know this is their year as the program will drop in the coming seasons. |
| This is Bullis's year for what? I don't suspect they will win the IAC tourney. I do not suspect they could beat Gonzaga. Maybe they could beat poorly coached St. Johns. Their year for what? Maybe playing as many games as possible for the kids -- great. |
Is OSHA now making the rules for WCAC? Only 1 game against other WCAC teams regardless of the massive difference in level of play between the top teams and everyone else. And why is the league limiting teams to only 2 games in any 7 day period? Club lax teams play 5-6 games over 2 days in summer and fall tourneys? Let the kids play. The seniors are getting screwed - playing 10 or 12 games max over two seasons. A generation or two ago, 90% of high school males were working 6-7 days a week while in high school if they were even allowed to play sports. Absurd. The “wimpification” of America continues |
All that counts for you the lax Dad?? What a joke, you have know idea what you are talking about. |
|
| How is Dematha doing these days? |
Agree that this years seniors are getting screwed, but I think the rule that limits no more than 2 games in any 7 day period applies to everyone. Doesn’t mean it’s not a stupid rule. If the leagues were ever going to grant a waiver, this would be the year to do it. |
I don't think Gonzaga is any good this year (down for their standards)... they are losing kids to GP again and even St Johns now. News flash, Casey O'neill is not the best COACH in the world... Gonzaga capitalized when the market was down, the MD pipeline swung way into Gonzaga's favor, and even Coach Giblin antics were turning people away from Prep. Much has changed in the past 4 years since Urick has GP headed in the right direction. I'd take Bullis over Gonzaga this year by a couple of goals. Also, Wes Speaks is a great coach, I don't think they are poorly coached. Looking forward to the SJC vs Gonzaga game coming up. |
Hi Casey - Still crying about SJC I see. Cry that they play scrimmages (called conference), Cry that they play in DC (called conference) . God is purple is gay!! |
