Why bother going to a preserve to kill oneself?

The only reason the LEOs knew to look there is because those passerbys looked at weeks old dashcam footage thanks to all of the viral commotion surrounding this disappearance.

That is why I posted this here and why I encourage new missing cases to do the same in their corners of the internet.

Doubt it's the dashcams. It was probably one or the other cell phone's pinging.

Disagree.
Cell service is spotty at best

Nope. The video was taken by travelers and the tip was passed on to local LEO to look in that area because the van had been spotted there.

They previously did not have search parties in Wyoming. Especially since she went missing in Utah.

People do that allllll the time.

Yeah we’re waiting on the press conference in 3 mins

No one reads anything before posting their “scoop.” Would anyone else like to tell us they “found a body”?

Of course it will be her. My money is on “blunt force trauma.” I can’t decide if he offer himself in FL or is on the lam.

They may not be able to say conclusively right away if it's her, though hopefully they can say if it meets the description and timeline.

It is kind of bizarre though how often they find missing people when searching for someone else.

Something like that just happened at the Grand Canyon earlier this summer:
https://www.insideedition.com/remains-of-man-found-in-grand-canyon-during-search-for-different-missing-person-are-tentatively

They were looking for someone else and found a person who had been missing since 2015. The NPS person quoted makes it sound like this is not that uncommon. Most aren't murder victims, of course.

This family found two other bodies while searching for their missing daughter:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/true-crime/wp/2017/01/30/a-family-has-searched-for-a-missing-woman-for-months-they-keep-finding-other-peoples-bodies/

Then when her remains were found (by a man out looking for mushrooms) they also found the remains of another woman who had gone missing ten years earlier--the same person was convicted of killing both women (someone each woman dated).

They seem confident. The search dogs left 10 minutes after the coroner arrived. So they are done searching (for now.)

Anonymous wrote:I think the last Instagram post from Gabby is odd. Would she take all that trouble of making a Halloween photo shoot and post it in August? She had already posted another mural one. It seems like that would be held on to until October. I wonder if authorities can time stamp that post. The couple were spotted in Victor that day. Also she spoke to her mom on the 24th. Can the police get the location of the texts her mom received the rest of the week to see if the location matched up to where Gabby said she was? Brian was spotted alone at a bar the evening of the 26th at Bullwinkles by Yellowstone. If that last post was not from her then he could have killed her the night of the 25th in Idaho after the sighting in Victor. He could have gotten rid of her body in Idaho while traveling north on 20 on the way to Yellowstone. Then the next night he is seen at Bullwinkles. Then he travels south back through Teton where his van was seen by the couple and where they are searching now. At that point it could have only been Brian in the van on his own hiding trying to figure out what to do next.

Either the police know way more than they are letting on, or they are looking for a needle in a haystack.

Where does everyone think Brian is?

Mexico.

+1 He finally admitted to his parents that he killed her and they helped him get out of the country.

I realize that this sounds a little out there, but I think he's somewhere without an extradition treaty. The Laundrie family has been totally methodical in shielding him from the police.

FBI Denver and NPS just confirmed that the body found in Grand Teton park in Wyoming is indeed Gabby Petito!!!

Cause of death is not determined. Family has been informed. Park is closed for investigation.

Terrible news, but at least the family can have closure.

Now the MF Laundrie family. I hope they all rot in hell.

Where are all the people that insisted that miserable POS hadn’t harmed her and she probably ran away?
