I'm a longtime SoulCycle person and was reluctant to get a Peloton because I didn't think the quality of the classes would be as good. I was wrong. I was going to hold out for the SoulCycle at-home bike (which is not in the DC market yet), but then decided to get the Peloton last week after all the gyms/studios closed—and I love it. The classes and instructors are amazing. I also didn't realize how much I'd appreciate having all the metrics there for me to track during the ride (like resistance, output, etc).
Just wanted to throw this out there for any others who might be on the fence about the Peloton, as I was. I still love SoulCycle, but the convenience of the bike at home, during this time especially (and now that I'm pregnant), has been perfect. |
| How did you get it last week? We ordered it (and paid in full, as opposed to financing), and still being told it's a two week wait. |
| I think I must have ordered it just before things got crazy, like last Monday, and it came within days. I then ordered shoes for my DH a couple days ago and the website said it would take weeks to get to me, but they just arrived today—so maybe your bike will get there sooner than they're saying? |
Interesting. We ordered it Monday the 16th around noon and the earliest delivery date we were able to schedule was April 2nd. I even tried to reschedule delivery and got an automated message that they are slammed and will not be able to reschedule deliveries. Oh well. Glad to know you think it was worth it! I also have heard great things. |
| Welcome to the cult...er...club. I got my bike in 2016 and tread in 2019 and am still completely obsessed. |
| Yay! Mine is coming April 3. |
Do you think I should get one?
|
| Mine was a gift like the women in the commercial. I've now had it for almost a year and a half and ride almost every day (well, every day now). Instructors are absolutely incredible. It's hard to explain the addiction to those who don't have one. And I barely cycled before (though I was an athlete). |
| I was really surprised that the in-home experience could be as dynamic and energetic as it's been. I was worried I'd lose the studio energy by doing the Peloton, but that hasn't been the case at all. |
| I must be missing something because I’ve tried it a few times at different hotel gyms and couldn’t get into it all. I wish I could, it would be the perfect home workout. |
I felt the same way when I'd only tried it at hotels, before I got one. It's different at home and I can't fathom why, but it's true. Even now I hate when I have to ride in a hotel while traveling (though I am obsessed with mine at home). |
| I have been on mine everyday! Thank god for this thing! |
| Love mine too! |

I bought it for my wife and myself two years ago for Valentine’s Day. (We are both women, before I get flamed for the whole husband buying his wife a Peloton bike commercial thing.)
We both use it 3-5 times per week in regular times, but these days, it keeps us sane. We mostly bike but also love the other classes (strength, stretching, yoga). It is an amazing workout, and we have both greatly increased our fitness levels. I did a 60 minute climb ride today and a 90 minute ride last weekend that I could have never competed when we first got the bike. I never did spin before this, so I have nothing to compare it to. But, I was in NYC earlier this year and went to a class in the studio. The energy was amazing. Enjoy! |

Who are your guys’s favorite Peloton instructors and why?
I love Robin Arzon. She is hilarious and her energy is off the charts. |
