Yes - you can use it as just a regular exercise bike without doing classes. There are a ton of “scenic” ride options too that are just videos through different locations and you bike at your own pace. I’ve had peloton for a few years now and I often put on a class on mute and listen to an audiobook or podcast. I follow along with the metrics since those flash when I’m falling under. Can also follow the instructor when it’s arms time.

Yes you can just ride and it shows your metrics so you can see how fast you’re going and hard you’re working. But you can’t watch other things like Netflix on the peloton screen, so you’d need to be in front of a tv or put an iPad in front of the screen. I believe that there is some kind of hack to get the screen to do other things but not sure how or whether it risks damaging the screen set up

there are a bunch of youtube videos that teach you how to hack the screen so that you can use it as a regular android device, but that voids the warranty, and I'm not sure why anyone would risk it? You can buy a plastic desk thing that fits over the handlebars and you can just put a laptop on that to watch a show if you just want to ride and watch netflix. I see a lot of people doing that now that so many are working from home. The desk makes it so you can do work or listen to a conference call by pedaling. I think they sell them on etsy.

Our peloton is arriving tomorrow! I downloaded the app in the meantime and did three different 20 minute workouts today to get a flavor of workouts, and they were awesome! So excited!

I love Alex Toussaint! Hip hop. I’ve learned about some great new music too.

These are my faves too... Denis also does yoga so he alternates with that but he is a fabulous coach. Tunde is also great, and Alex and Matt.

I received my bike this week and LOVE it. Does anyone want to share their username to follow each other? I don’t have a Facebook account but would still like to connect with others! Thoughts?

New to spin and have only done peloton - but how are SoulCycle and zengo different?

Jess King has some Trap rides. You can sort by music type. Alex Toussaint has a lot of great hip hop rides and Club Bangers rides on Saturdays.

To connect, it might be worth it to get on Facebook. In addition to the Official Peloton Page, there are many subgroups as well.

I have no issues in third position with high resistance, but if it’s more of a job, it wobbles. I have adjusted the stabilizers and my bike sits on a mat on a hard wood floor.

You should call support. The bike shouldn't wobble.

Do any of you have a history of tendinitis or other knee problems? I have knee problems from running and I am looking for an alternative. Afraid to invest in the Peloton only to find that it aggravates the knees.

It is much easier on your knees than running, but it is important to have the right bike setup and cleat placement. There are decent videos available, but they are no substitute to having an in-person fitting, which obviously is not really possible at the moment.
