just want to gauge my reaction to this. twice now, i've seen a neighborhood acquaintance sit in her husband's lap. just during informal get togethers with the kids around. |
No problem, assuming she didn't stick her tongue in his ear at the same time. |
That is some seriously fucked-up shit. |
Confused-do you mean your husband's lap? Otherwise, I sit in my husband's lap all the time-both in social gatherings and privately. We are from Europe so I am now wondering if this is a faux pas in America. Now curious to hear other answers. |
I couldn't care less. If it were in a formal setting, perhaps a faux pas, but in an informal setting among those she knows well...
|
I was just sitting in my husband's lap earlier tonight. Don't tell me there's something wrong with that... |
Unless she is six times the size he is, they have their clothes on, and there is no grinding, I don't see any issues with this. |
If I weren't 5'9'' I would sit in my DH's lap. Doesn't look cute when I do it though... |
Ewwwwww.
At a family gathering. Fine in private or amongst close friends after drinking lots of wine. |
I've been reading DCUM too long. Wasn't there a similar thread about a year ago? Including the tongue in ear comment? Or have I just lost my mind?
|
My French genes tell me this is normal public (though informal) behavior.
My Japanese genes tell me this is reserved for wild teenagers. Conclusion: I do it sometimes, although we prefer just sitting side by side on the SAME chair (that way our eyes are level). Cultural and educational differences, I suppose. |
Was there lack of seating? |
OP needs to get laid. |
It is ridiculous what people think is appropriate in mixed company. We had a couple of friends who would hold hands when they were with us; in front of our children, no less! Needless to say, they are no longer our friends. |
^^ this is a joke, right? |
