Entertainment and Pop Culture
Ugh ugh ugh. I worked in a place like this. Also in the entertainment industry and yes, people use the fact that they are "artists" to justify a bunch of garbage behavior (in reality I actually am an artist and the people who did this stuff were just weird grifters who work in entertainment specifically because it's a good place to hide when you have serious personality or mental health issues and can't hack it in a traditional work environment). I HATED it. The constant discussion of sex and sex acts, and then acting like you're weird or a prude if you politely decline discussing your sex life at work. Lots of inappropriate touching and intimate conversations passed off as "the culture" of the industry. Nope. I've worked plenty of professional places full of artists who take their work seriously and also have boundaries. There are situations where you might take down those boundaries in order to create art but that's always consensual and it's not going to happen like this, with some jacka$$ shoving a video of his naked wife in your face and telling you to do what she's doing (wtf). Like Blake Lively, don't like her, I really don't care. That is not okay behavior and we need to reiterate it for the people in the back of the room because a LOT of people in this industry still don't get it. Grow. Up. and learn to behave like a professional adult in a workplace. |
The desperation is palpable. Justin is cooked snd his career is over. |
It’s ultimately about Reynolds wanting the rights to the books and Justin refusing to sell them. That’s what this is about and always has been. |
English isn’t the trolls first language. |
I’m just a lawyer who knows that everyone’s claim makes the opposing party look bad. That’s the whole point. |

The founder of Joneswork is married to a wme partner. They suck for knowing what happened and not doing anything to help her as well |
Does the lawyer know that the texts are damning? |
Of course they are. And Justin will provide his own damning evidence. There are two sides to every case like this. You guys watch too much Law & Order. |
Sure. We will wait for bated breath to hear how he wasn’t a prick. |
What’s this photo supposed to prove? Harvey Weinstein was one of the most powerful producers in Hollywood until his arrest. You can probably dig up a photo like this for any Hollywood star who was active around the same time. The behavior that’s described in the complaint is sexual harassment. We’ll see if Baldoni denies any of it, and if so, what comes out in discovery, but if these allegations are true, she’s absolutely entitled to go public about it and sue for sexual harassment and the subsequent smear campaign that Baldoni allegedly orchestrated to discredit her. If there are other reasons for her choice to bring the lawsuit (like obtaining the rights to the sequel or whatever people are speculating) - and there very well might be - so be it. It doesn’t seem like she’s making up these allegations, and the conduct described in and of itself is unacceptable and disgusting and illegal. I am all for her taking down someone who created this kind of work environment. |
I think both of these things are true. It is clear a lot of people have problems with Blake just because of all the over exposure and things lately. But the smear campaign took advantage of this. I feel like they lit a match and people just piled on. But I think without them, it wouldn’t have been as bad. They’re definitely would’ve been backlash, I mean there was backlash against her even being cast in this role from the start. But it wouldn’t have been this bad. |
Way to spin it. Remind me which or firm you work for? |
| I follow People magazine on Instagram, and they have like 10 stories on this, way too many. |
It's a big story. It exposes what people have suspected all along with regards to PR campaigns. To see if all laid out in texts is surprising. It's also surprising to Abel and Nathan who never thought those texts would see the light of day. |
