Because it is entertaining. Which is what the internet can be used for. |
Ugh, back when I used to watch the show, I remembered this line.
Given what's come to light now, it's especially sickening that Josh made an incest joke. He's a grade A scumbag, through and through. Was a scumbag when a teenager, and also as an adult making such a joke. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3095157/Josh-Duggar-incest-joke-siblings-family-s-TLC-show.html |
SOrry if this is on page 34 or something...
Why wasn't this ever picked up by Oprah? If she and the show were informed, why did they back off? Was there a show taped where questions were asked of the family? |
I believe the show never aired. At that time (2006 I believe), the Oprah show contacted authorities to investigate. The statue of limitations had just expired, and Jim Bob refused to allow police or anyone to interview Josh. So the issue was never pursued, because nothing could be done anyway. There were rumors for years, since then. But the police report had never been made public until requested via the FOIA. |
Yes. Oprah found out some information and contacted the authorities in Arkansas. At that point, the statute of limitations had run. Oprah could have publicized what she knew, but instead respected the privacy of the victims. |

This is a great article. |

I hate that I just gave that website a view. |
Oh, poor Josh! Molesting his siblings (and apparently at least one other non-family female), making incest jokes as an adult, and being burned at the stake! Poor, poor Joshie Duggar! Give me a fucking break. ![]() |
I feel a lot of anger directed at the Duggars for continuing to have 5! more children after this scandal came to light. Clearly, there were not able to properly care for and supervise the children they did have and yet they continued (and by all accounts are still continuing to try) to have more children! Their "buddy" system is just a way of farming out parenting responsibilities to their older children. I have a hard time believing that there is zero risk of this happening again in this family. There are still a lot of little girls. Who will make sure that they are safe?
It is developmentally appropriate for teenagers to develop crushes on other teenagers and have young love relationships with others where they hug, kiss and hold hands. Josh's behavior is so extreme that chances are it might have happened any way, but part of me wants to believe that had he been allowed to be around other girls and have normal interactions with them, this situation might not have occurred. For the sake of his children, Josh needs outgoing, intensive professional therapy. I hope his wife wakes up and realizes that protecting her children is more important than serving her husband. I am mostly thinking of the girls and I hope that they can get therapy, real therapy, for this so that they can really, really understand that this was not their fault. |
***THIS IS PURE SPECULATION ON MY PART***
This was on the behind the scenes with the crew that just recently aired. Scott the main producer is married to another crew member and when the Duggars were in china, his wife went into labor and Jill and Jana helped to deliver the baby. Then we are told that Jill and Jana had not seen this child since the birth (I believe she is now three or four) and they brought her in to surprise them. Earlier both Scott and his wife were talking about how much time they spend with the Duggars and how they basically live there yet their daughter has never ever been around? I think TLC and the producers knew exactly what type of family the Duggars are all along. |
This first broke when the Holts found out about him acting inappropriately with their daughter while they were engaged. The Duggars were trying to marry him off young and at the time Holt was a fellow politician of JimBob. This is when they finally had to go to the police and where the term "sin in the camp" comes from. Shes the non family female. |
Have you read this thread? Posters are horrified, and feel awful for the victims, and to some extent, Josh also, for their environment. |
I've been fondled and raped. Different times in my life. They do not compare. |
21:32 here. Back to the Duggars:
I am a little curious how they will explain the quick exit of the TV crew to the youngest ones. The ones who have grown up so far with the TV crew around. |
