Anyone get telework approved at SEC?

How’s everyone holding up - 6 weeks in, 3 day weekend coming up? Anyone making any major life decisions or are you in for the slog? Is everyone using a ton of time off to survive?

I see the person in charge of updating the compensation table has clearly left the building. Not that it matters anymore. Nothing compensates for this amount of frustration.

I’m juggling kids and elderly parents. Come to realization this isn’t sustainable for more than a year. Im too overwhelmed right now to make any progress on looking for a job. Will see how arbitration works out and the agency’s response and messaging if Union wins. Assuming I will be in a full blown job hunt by the end of the year.

I'm in the exact same spot minus dealing with elderly parents. Using a lot of leave to make things work, considering part-time as an option. It's hard to focus on the job search when I'm just trying to keep things going day to day.

Also the walls are so thin, I can literally hear the convo in the office behind me like the guy is sitting next to me.

Adding another voice to the chorus feeling like this so we aren’t alone. I can only put up with being abused on a daily basis for so long. I would sooner change careers.

Your post just shows how out if touch you are with reality. I’ll give you that most private sector employees aren’t in the office 40 hours a week, but they once were and people managed to find new jobs.

they are shared offices, boo. i'd have more useful space in a cube farm. and i'm currently listening to conversations on either side of me, plus there is a kid screaming outside.

I am an attorney and have always had an office in all of my jobs. At a non-profit, at a law firm and at the state AGs office. In fact, other than as a first year at a law firm this is the only place I have had to share an office so no having an office as a lawyer is not unusual at all.

Attorney here and always had an office. It think it is a confidentiality thing. You can't be on the phone with one client/company and have them overhearing the conversation your coworker is having with another client/company.
