Exactly. It’s funny how many millions of men (white men!) don’t have a single “false” accusation against them. Haven’t been “maligned” by people out to get them. |
You mean the guy that choked his wife, and a divorce judge found had abused his children. Well alrighty. He would not be someone I would use to vouch for my character. But you do you. |
+1. I’d prefer a pick that has actual military or foreign policy experience but DeSantis is at least somewhat normal. yes it’s a low bar in Trumpworld. |
Overton window was moved. We will be relieved as long as they aren’t as bad as Hegseth. Why are we punching ourselves in the head? Because it feels good when we stop. |
You actually have no idea about this. But it does seem that handsome men in public positions often have “allegations” come out as they start to gain power/popularity or especially if they are taking a political position. Coincidence? |
Most do not have these types of allegations. |
If you marry your high school sweetheart, cheat on her with five other women, go on to be accused of multiple instances of sexual assault/harassment, and are up for Senate confirmation to lead a department of 3 million members (including a military where adultery is a crime)...your yearbook is fair game. |
People with psychopathic tendencies seek prominent positions in society. And they also tend to abuse others during their ascent because they get off on exercising power. They leave a trail of victims. So yes, people in prominent roles in biz/politics/entertainment are MORE likely to have victims and allegations than the average person. It's because a large portion of people in prominent positions are high functioning whackjobs. |
1. Most do not have these type of allegations come out. 2. It is the fact they put themselves in the spotlight that leads to major news sources picking up on these allegations. They were always there, and there is plenty of evidence in that in Hegseth’s case. The better question is why do these men with so many skeletons in their closet put themselves in a position where the skeletons will clearly come out? |
As it relates to Hedgseth, the people "out to get him" are current and former Fox employees, his mother and the women he beat and cheated on. |
Oh boy. I hope you don't have sons. Or daughters. |

“The Bulwark reported Wednesday morning that **the potential of DeSantis nominating Lara Trump as a senator** could factor into the decision to appoint the governor to lead the Department of Defense” |
Right. Say what you will about DeSantis, he seems devoted to his wife and nobody has ever made this sort of allegations about him. |
His mommy says what she said about him isn't true--"at least any more"! |
Appoint himself. |
