SJWs are exactly why I switched parties. Can't deal with the hypocrisy.
The dems and SJWs aren't interested in equal opportunity (and the work it would involve to address it - integrated neighborhoods anybody?"). They are only interested in the most simplistic of ways to address social inequality - equal OUTCOME. It's asinine and fuzzy logic thinking. |
And crapping on Asians in the process acting oblivious. |
when Michele Kwan lost to lipinski once, the msnbc headline was “American beats out Kwan!” They were portrayed as Americans as long as there was no white American to carry the flag. Not everyone, but a lot of whites do consciously or subconsciously view Asian Americans as perpetual foreigners. It ‘s a well established truth in social science. |

There is no reason to waste your time and effort to try to convince a person otherwise. Conviction bias? It is dismaying to have people on this thread tell AAs we are are not discriminated against, or that we are discriminating against others. But the American population is large and diverse. A few white people don't speak for all white people. In a way I find the anonymous honesty refreshing. You KNOW people think like this, it's sort of funny to "hear" it. Who cares? |

"And crapping on Asians in the process acting oblivious"
Oh, they aren't oblivious. They are well aware, they just don't mind the collateral damage to Asians. I think among some people there is suspicion of the success of AAs, hence the cheating/prepping alliegations. Affirmative action will be repealed soon enough and I would guess college admissions are going to look a like like CA. Dim sum in the cafeteria anyone? No more handicapping! There are more and more AAs represented in upper mangement and goodness knows tech. Things aren't stagnant. Don't lose faith! |
| Asian Americans will still be overrepresented if removing the admission test and relying only on middle school GPA if the bar is set much higher than 3.5. Let’s face it. the stats of all academic measures are pretty consistent. It’s not like aa as a group only stands out in TJ admission. |
| How's that combination of regularly asserting one's superiority and playing the victim card working out for you? Not too well in FCPS, if recent developments are any indication. You could always try to grow up. |
The affirmative action is clinging by the finger tips.

This is too funny! A white person on a thread about Asian american discrimination telling them they have it wrong - if it doesn't smack of superiority, what does?! lol And playing the victim card? Please! All your whiney complaining doesn't exactly come across as any BUT playing the victim card?! lol You're too funny. |

"The affirmative action is clinging by the finger tips. "
It was dead in the water, but now we have Amy Barrett. See ya later affirmative action! |
Thank god. How ironic it took conservatives to try to end racist policies! |
| The TJ you wanted is gone. Fight over the carcass all you want. If think the Supreme Court is going to force FCPS to reinstate the prior test, you know nothing about law or policy. |
Agreed. TJ is gone. Time to flourish at our base schools and focus on getting in to top colleges from there. Hopefully, the Supreme Court will require race neutral consideration for college admissions by the time our kids are applying. I can't believe I've become a Republican. |
LOL! I can't believe I've become a Republican either. The hypocrisy and disingenuous virtue signaling of the Democratic party is out of control now. Anyone who has lived in a socialist country knows that the US will be on the fast track to socialism if the Democrats win. |
Agreed. This is not even about being for or against Trump anymore. It's about being for or against socialism. Although there are terrible implications either way, I'll take Trump over socialism anyday. |
