| Sounds like that Russia is beating a hasty retreat in the Glushkovo region now that Ukraine is destroying the bridges and blocking Russia's ability to resupply. I suspect we'll shortly see the amount of land Ukraine has captured from Russia to double to 2000 square km, basically everything on the Ukraine side of the Seym river since Russia no longer has any real ability to field any troops there. |
| I’m getting confused about the bridges. There’s a bridge connecting Crimea that they’re targeting (and have hit before, correct?) but they’re also talking about another bridge to the east? And that’s nothing to do with the push into Russia to the north? |
hat So that was a good hit. Bridge over the Seim, which definitely hurts Russia. But I think you are thinking about the Kerch Bridge. That would be the real deal. A hard one to destroy, but Ukrainians have had a couple of solid attempts. It's presently extremely well defended by all of Russia's defenses. And Ukraine is trying to hit it. The Kerch Bridge would be a very big deal. |

The reason why the Kersch bridge is important has to do with the volume of traffic it can support, geographic locations it interconnects, as well as heavy railcar support. Most critical is the interruption of heavy railcars. Russia uses the 1520 millimeter gauge tracks (wider than European) with a capacity of 23 to 25 ton's per axle. That's at least five truckloads per railcar. If there are between 10 to 30 railcars traversing the Kersch bridge, that's between 50 to 150 truckloads of cargo over the bridge. That's a lot of traffic jam and fuel.
https://www.themoscowtimes.com/archive/rail-car-manufacturer-receives-new-heavy-freight-technology And to the poster talking about the Israel-Palestine conflict, you're correct that a common Russian propaganda tactic to play both sides of social media. Why? People normally aren't violent if they're happy. Russian propagandists will play both ends of the field in the hopes of getting others to pick up the theme. It's what they do to stir up trouble so they gain in the long run. How do Russians gain from inciting violence in the Middle East? It's really quite simple. The more trouble there is in the Middle East, the more oil prices go up, the more valuable Russian oil becomes, the less oil Russia needs to ship to make a killing on the market. |
Yes, Vlad, you confirmed you are the only deranged person here on several threads. |

The Kursk theater highlights something that's been true since the beginning, and that is Russia and Ukraine are fighting different kind of wars. Ukraine is focused on taking land, and Russia in destroying military equipment. Forbes with the details: https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidaxe/2024/08/17/out-in-the-open-and-on-the-move-in-russias-kursk-oblast-ukrainian-forces-are-vulnerable-and-losing-lots-of-armored-vehicles/
"The attrition of infantry vehicles—including tracked fighting vehicles and wheeled personnel carriers—has been especially acute for the Ukrainian armed forces. They’re losing these valuable vehicles at almost double the normal rate. And where the average loss rate is for the entire 700-mile front of the wider war, those losses in Kursk are occurring along a 50-mile front." What's perplexing is that the Ukrainian supporters seem to think there will be some sort of negotiated end to the conflict shortly after November and holding this land until then will benefit them. But what makes them think Russia would negotiate anything if Ukraine was suddenly cut off from aid? |
I think that's coming soon. A few days ago the Ukrainians blew up a ferry port adjacent to the Kerch bridge (a backup needed by Russia if there's an issue with the bridge), and also took out an anti-aircraft installation nearby. |
There are a sht ton of bots and paid propaganda posters on here. To you I say “get fcked.” To anyone else who was against Ukraine defending itself and crying to let Russia have Ukraine because “they all speak roughly the same language” or “I’m a pacificist!” or whatever other Fox News bs or Trump supported nonsense that you digested and regurgitated to form your ill informed world view, how do you feel now? I’m sure you must feel foolish. Look at Ukraine. Look at them. They are fking people up. And you and your cowardice are on full display. I’m glad the adults are in charge and not you. |
What’s perplexing is your complete cowardice and propaganda like comment. |
Boys, and probably some kind of foreign malign propaganda posting. Also, just idiots who suck off Trump and wear shirts that say things like: “better Russian than Democrat.” |
| I really wish y’all would leave Dems vs GOP or Trump out of this discussion. I’m conservative and I’m with Ukraine 100%. They’re amazing! |
Same. |
Dear Ukronauts, can we get more coping and less seething from your posts? You're ruining this thread just like your boy Z is ruining Ukraine. |
And how are you coping as Ukraine annexes more territory? |
