Yes it is the opposite of Trump’s stated position. I guess Steve Witkoff is acting as the Russian’s agent and working against Trump. The Russians must be laughing. |

Polish Prime Minister: "The paradox is that 500 million Europeans are asking 300 million Americans to defend them against 140 million Russians.” He’s not wrong!
Will Europe step up? This is on their doorstep, and how long until Putin invades the small Baltic countries who also have Russian speakers? |
The EU knew this was coming but probably hoped the U.S. would stand strong a bit longer. |
| Zeke sky will never agree to this not should he. I guess Putin must have the photo of trump and bubba! |
Europe needs to step up. Especially now that Trump is making it clear that he'll let Putin invade and take Ukraine's lunch money without any punishment, and that he'd do the same if Putin did it to Europe. The US has abandoned, betrayed, failed and let down its European allies. They are on their own and need to step up. |

US Senator Mitch McConnell:
"Putin has spent the entire year trying to play President Trump for a fool. If Administration officials are more concerned with appeasing Putin than securing real peace, then the President ought to find new advisors. ... If only he could have done something about it in the recent past. the man created this SCOTUS and had two opportunities to impeach and remove him from office and bar him from ever running again. I hope this torments him for his remaining days, because he, more than anyone created this. |
How will they afford their social benefits if they have to pay for their own defense? That’s always been America’s job. Can you imagine euros sending their effeminate twink sons to war in this day and age? |
Have you seen our President and VP? We can't really call anyone else effiminate twinks when those two are our leaders and they bend over for Russia. |
| Republican Senator Mike Rounds said Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in a call to senators, confirmed the so-called 28-point “peace plan” was actually a Russian wishlist and is “not the administration’s position”. Nor is there any threat to cut off weapons or intelligence to Ukraine. |
I totally agree with the first part of your analysis, but I would add that neither country will ever trust the other. They are both pretty racist and the Chinese think the Russians are idiots and the Russians don’t think much of the Chinese. But both countries are also enormously cynical and bases relationships on personal gain rather than trust. It’s like two mobsters working together—but there’s always a chance one of them will cap the other if he thinks it will benefit him. I don’t agree on your second point. I just don’t think we can have any sort of a productive relationship with someone like Putin. We tried that for decades. |
Somehow I doubt that Mitch McConnell will spend his few waning years of retirement being "tormented" over whether the Donbas is ruled from Kiev or Moscow. |
So word is the peace plan was translated from Russian. There are linguistic clues in how things are phrased. |
No surprise. The elements of the 28-point plan pretty much track what Russia has been insisting on all along. |
Report today that Trump doesn't know what's in the plan because he never read it. Amazing. |
| Did people complain about Eisenhower not defending Hungary from Russia 70 years ago? |
