Yes. And the Next Level 28s are just as bad. A group of talented girls went to Hero's...they are 3rd in the country currently.

Quick question, I just looked on Club Lax rankings. Is Next Level not participating in any summer tournaments? There are no scores listed

Who knows and who cares? Hopefully they have other activities to fall back on as lax is not those girls strong suit.

I watched it too. Hero's and Pride looked to be pretty similar from a talent perspective. Hero's probably belongs somewhere between 10 and 20 in the rankings, which of course is still pretty good. There is a big gap between the real top teams and Hero's and Pride.

This right here. Big drop off from the top 3 28 teams, M&D, MDU and Coppermine to Hero's. Hero's doesn't have the talent that those top 3 do. If the PP thinks the Pride parents are bad, the Hero's parents are worse.

Following up on this. We (Hero's) are now ranked 3rd in the country, under only Eagle Stix and Coppermine. So....

Coppermine and EagleStix can put away Pride easily very consistently. Even on LFTC weekend when Pride was generally a dumpster fire, Hero's could not put them away decisively. I don't care what the rankings say; I'd still rather play Hero's than Crush, M&D, or Maryland United.

You'd get a better answer on BOTC than DCUM.

What is BOTC?

Looks like NL best player didn’t try out along with other top players in the area.

What other “top” players didn’t try out? Curious

There are a few strong players that live in the Kensington area that play for Hero’s green. I’m assuming that’s who this person was mentioning.

BOTC = Back Of The Cage. It a forum the Maryland board is mainly about Baltimore clubs but here you go check it out.

Rumored that NL’s best middie is leaving for Hero’s or Pride, with Hero’s obviously being her first choice

Except for the ridiculous commute, Hero’s who routinely beats Pride by 2 or less, is obviously the first choice.

Not so sure about that. If my DD made #3 team in the country, we’d make that commute no questions asked. But- see your point.

Would it be "no questions asked" if you lived in Fairfax our Loudon Co? Add 30-40 mins to that commute. What about going to be the 6th or 7th attacker/defender or 8th or 9th middle instead of starting? Name is huge, I get it, but it seems like there is a lot to consider for a move like that.

If they are already on Pride, stay there for 1 more year and go to Capital. If you are worried about making Capital and not sure, you definitely won’t make Heros or play even if you did make it. The draw of the Maryland clubs is nice but there’s just as much politics and back stabbing there if not more than the DC scene.

NL player making a top MD club? I must’ve missed her.

There are plenty of DMV girls good enough to make a top MD club, including the NL middie. Anyone suggesting otherwise is not watching these teams play regularly. The MD teams are deep, but they are not so deep that they would not take a good, talented player from NL, Pride, Stars, etc. But is the juice worth the squeeze? Pride, for example, plays in the same tournaments against the same teams as Hero's. Is the status of playing for a top team worth the effort involved in getting to practice multiple times per week? If your goal is to play for a MD team in high school, then it's probably worth setting up shop as early as possible. But if you are a DMV girl who really wants to play for Capital, why bother with a MD team for a year? I don't get it.
