LCPS sexual assualt - who is held accountable?

We’ve now seen the opposite and it’s not a good look.

Schools have all these things.

Rape is a societal problem that none of these address

Years ago, I had a friend who was a high school teacher. She told me the teachers were required to be in the halls during class change. Do they do that now? Teachers used to check the restrooms from time to time when I was in high school. Seems like that might be a good idea today. Common sense.

And, where are all these Assistant Principals in the schools?

Yeah obviously teachers are in the halls. The kids get bathroom passes to meet in the bathrooms when teachers are teaching. We can’t sit in the bathrooms all day. There is a way higher risk of something inappropriate happening if adults are in the bathrooms with minors than not. You can’t seriously think grown adults should be in bathrooms with kids. It’s a huge liability.

Gotta love that equity tho!

The assault was investigated. The rapist has been arrested and charged. There's no evidence that he used LCPS bathroom policies to access the bathroom. What accountability do you think is missing?

Didn't the rapist wear skirts on occasion? I have it on good authority they did.

And no, teachers do not monitor bathrooms. That's a liability, especially since there are no cameras in there.

My SIL has been a HS teacher for 18 years. She says they catch at least a dozen couples hooking up in bathrooms each year.

I bet you guys use the bathroom next to trans individuals each day and never know. Trans doesn't mean crossdresser.

The two trans teens I know are on hormones to prevent puberty and secondary sexual characteristic growth (adam's apple, facial hair, breasts, etc.).

What will you do when your kids are in college with coed bathrooms? My DS is at a college that has coed dorms, floors, and bathrooms.

By your logic, we should just abolish speed limits on roads because people speed anyway?

Straight from his mouth to justice system to the Washington Post https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/public-safety/in-case-at-center-of-political-firestorm-judge-finds-teen-committed-sexual-assault-in-virginia-school-bathroom/2021/10/25/42c037da-35cc-11ec-8be3-e14aaacfa8ac_story.html

"The defendant initially told detectives the second sexual act did not occur, but later said it may have happened briefly and accidentally when a knee-length skirt he was wearing got caught on his watch as the pair were fumbling around in the bathroom stall."

People are wondering about the logistics. Seems rather improbable to blame the watch and the skirt for insertion.

The skirt didn’t rape a girl. You’re all out of your minds and you’re focused on the wrong things. When’s the last time you had an explicit talk about consent with your sons? How about when consent is withdrawn? Worry about that. Not skirts.

For me, it is more important for me to have a discussion with my daughter and caution her about people posing as women to gain entry into a woman's restroom without a lot of scrutiny.

Then you’re failing her. Good job.

That would not have helped here. The victim arranged to meet the rapist in that bathroom for consensual sex multiple times before.

Why kids are having sex in bathrooms in schools, I have no idea. Parents don’t seem to be doing their jobs in Loudoun.

They won't fire the supe because of Tuesday's election. It's quite obvious.

Heartbreaking and makes me sick to my stomach. This is hardly isolated to LCPS and I agree with others it has little to nothing to do with the trans bathroom policy -- it's just the scumbag bureaucrats who run our schools in general. They all care far more about their own career ascent and the school's liability than anyone else's children.

lol? Superintendent Ziegler lying on record? Allowing a serial sex offender to perpetrate again? Idk? Thinking out loud here.

If he leaves, google his name in a year, safe bet he'll big in another district, likely making 10% more than he is now. Crook school admins are never fired and blackballed from new gigs. They get exit packages with six figure payouts, non disparagement agreement, and a sterling letter of rec from the board.

And how about Sheriff Chapman?
