Gotta love that equity tho!

They won't fire the supe because of Tuesday's election. It's quite obvious.

I don’t follow. Please elaborate. I infer from your vague post that if the Republican candidate wins the governor position then the board will resign en masse and begin prosecution of superintendent?

The assault was investigated. The rapist has been arrested and charged. There's no evidence that he used LCPS bathroom policies to access the bathroom. What accountability do you think is missing?

lol? Superintendent Ziegler lying on record? Allowing a serial sex offender to perpetrate again? Idk? Thinking out loud here.

If he leaves, google his name in a year, safe bet he'll big in another district, likely making 10% more than he is now. Crook school admins are never fired and blackballed from new gigs. They get exit packages with six figure payouts, non disparagement agreement, and a sterling letter of rec from the board.

I believe Ziegler is an interim superintendent, and no buyout would be required.

Thank God. He's so horrific, he needs to be thrown out. Who exactly picked him?

No. He was interim, they hired him after their superintendent search. He is the actual superintendent. If you lived in Loudoun and weren’t just a conservative troll being baited by Fox News you might know that.

False and false. They won’t fire him because this is a political football & if they wanted to get him to leave it will cost BIG BUCKS. This hack is going to get paid a lot of coin.

They won’t fire him because no other superintendent could have made different choices . Title IX dictated what school could do. So did respecting student privacy and the integrity of the LCSO investigation. Policy 8040 was a state mandate that they had to pass no matter what. There is no other choice that could have made and Ziegler isn’t ineffective because he has to do what laws say he has to do.

For me, it is more important for me to have a discussion with my daughter and caution her about people posing as women to gain entry into a woman's restroom without a lot of scrutiny.

That would not have helped here. The victim arranged to meet the rapist in that bathroom for consensual sex multiple times before.

Why kids are having sex in bathrooms in schools, I have no idea. Parents don’t seem to be doing their jobs in Loudoun.

Perhaps the schools need volunteer parents to keep the kids safe from assault in the bathrooms.

Where in Title IX does it say that you can not acknowledge that there is an ongoing investigation of an alleged assault?

And, honestly, it was a month later. He wrote the School Board on May 28 or 29, but publicly denied any reports at the June meeting. Why?

Because it was an ongoing investigation and given the students initially met by consent as they had in the past, it had not been determined at that point in time an assault or rape had in fact taken place.

Just volunteer to guide your kids in why breaking rules to meet in bathrooms to have sex shouldn’t be happening no matter what

Good thing the rape victim had the rape confirmed in the hospital.

Maybe PP wants to volunteer to hand out condoms.

A court confirmed the rape. Hospitals confirm a sexual encounter occurred and grab DNA samples to ID with whom it happened. Evidence and testimony determine the nature of that encounter.

For those of you with a NYT subscription, there is a good column about the assaults (those without a subscription can probably get a few free views):

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/28/opinion/loudoun-county-trans.html

This is a story about how the right twisted the sexual assault of a teenager into a culture war fantasy. It’s about how a distorted tale on a conservative website became grist for a nationwide moral panic.

Here is another article:

https://news.yahoo.com/loudoun-county-sex-assault-case-dominates-final-days-of-virginia-governors-race-143831258.html

Republican politicians and right-wing media have used the story of a sexual assault in a school bathroom to claim that public schools are run by ideologues imposing liberal dogma on children, that the assault was the result of misguided policies to accommodate transgender students, and that the school system and the mainstream media hide information from parents and the public if it is politically inconvenient.

A close look at facts that have emerged shows a far more complicated picture. Some of the most inflammatory claims are false. Media figures and politicians rushed to judgment and made the story about a transgender male preying on a young girl, when in fact the first of two assaults took place in the context of a previously consensual sexual relationship between two teens. And while there are legitimate questions about the local school board’s handling of the issue, the truth appears to be more complex than how it has been portrayed in right-wing media. The county sheriff’s office and school board are now openly feuding over their shared response.
