What does a youth soccer coach make per year?

I heard about $15,000 per team at a big club in Maryland. This isn't a club owner type coach, but one of the coaches they bring in for the season to run the team (3 practices a week, 1 game a week).

Sounds about right. If they coach 2 teams, and supplement with camps and private training, they can make almost as much as a teacher. If they have a spouse with a decent job, and/or a day job with hours that are compatible with making it to a practice field by 5 every night (like a teacher, for example), they can do alright.

Problem for them is what happens when they have kids. They are pretty much working every night plus weekends, so if they have a day job on top of that, or their kids are old enough to be in school and have their own activities, they would never see their own kids.

Most have day jobs and soccer is supplemental income

Depends on role in the club, qualifications (licenses) value to the club.

What do you think the percentage of ecnl/da coaches that have real careers outside of soccer is?

most

Most directors of ECNL/DA are full time.

6k is about the lowest a club can get away with paying a coach. I've heard as much as 25k a team for some DA or Ecnl teams. Usually those come with added commitments so not much time to supplement that.

At most, a coach can reasonably coach 3 teams a year, so potentially could make 50-60k depending on club/team/age group/license/experience.

Director pay can really vary. Executive directors make a lot at big clubs, TDs and DOCs vary a bit. Anything below that in the org chart can vary. When you add up the director and coaching pay, you won't find many making over 70k.

A co-worker coached under 11 or under 12 kids at McLean. One team. He said it was about 20k.

+1 on the ED salaries. Couple of the bigger clubs have EDs making more than 250k.

ED for Alexandria pulled in over $350k a couple of years ago and the club only brought in around $2.5 million. Seems like a lot..

It does.....the reality is that most of these Clubs are registered as non-profit organizations meaning their ED salaries are posted in their annual 990 form (I believe that is the form anyways).

McLean ED (hyper-experienced) makes less than $100K, though TD Clyde Watson (also hyper-experienced) makes six figures:

The Alexandria Soccer Association board should be ashamed of itself. That is insane. I smell a rat.
