I think the OBGC tournament is pretty stacked for this age group. I'm thinking Cerritos is the favorite. Where is Pipeline playing that weekend. I'm also thinking that the ECNL teams got top flight because they are ECNL and will get slammed. We shall see.

Agreed....McLean boys aren't that good and neither is BRYC ECNL. They put them there just because they are tagged ECNL.

The placement of these teams don't make a lot of sense. 1/2 of the first flight teams aren't top teams and the 2nd flight has at least 1/3 of the teams that should be in top flight. Loudoun, McLean, Burke, potomac, BRYC are NOT top caliber teams.

I have always thought Elite tournaments does not do a great job with Brackets.

My forthcoming comments are based on who I think will wins games, strictly the result. Not based on the quality of soccer that the teams play. I agree that Loudoun, McLean, and BRYC are three of the weakest, if not the three weakest, teams in the top flight. I haven't seen Potomac play in some time but their rankings on GotSoccer (YS) and Youth Soccer (YS) are strong. They've had some good results. Based on GS and YS rankings, McLean should not have been in top flight. When the first draft of the brackets came out BRYC was in the 2nd flight and later switched with PAC. It was a smart move to move PAC down. Although Burke isn't a well known club, this team has had some very good results in the past. I believe they won the State and Regional President's Cup last year. I think the top flight was the correct placement for them. I don't know many of the 2nd flight teams but who are you thinking are top teams in that flights that should have been moved up? Freedom?

Loudoun ECNL team is basically their 07 DA team from last year. Why do you folks think it is weak team.

Loudoun lost 0-5 to Springfield, then beat VSA 4-0, and then lost to BRYC 0-1 in Loudoun Cup last week. VSA beat Springfield in group play and lost to them in the finals. I guess you never know what can happen with this age group especially since it's their first season 11v11 on the full field.

Folks, at U12 and up, Loudoun Red is no longer their top boys team. They have pre-ECNL and ECNL teams above it. Looks like they have two above Loudoun Red at U12. They have a number of really good players who played up a year at Loudoun DA last year.

We opted out of this tournament, but I would say based on the teams I've seen play Arlington, Coppermine, SYA, and Freedom storm should be in the top bracket. Rest seem appropriate.

This topic is U13s, not U12s. The only age group where there are two teams above red is U12. Yes, that Loudoun team had one above it, but so did BRYC and VSA.

I think the weakest team in the top flight is McLean. I'm not sure who I would swap them out with though. Based on GS and YS rankings, I'd have to go with Freedom even though I've never seen them play. I don't think Arlington deserves top flight...and that's not bad considering they still have a DA. I don't know anything about SYA.

Really? Who is the BRYC team above BRYC U13 ENCL Elite? Or VSA's NPL Elite? Those are the teams that beat Loudoun Red last weekend.
