noticing more and more of my neighbors moving out of moco to nova, especially from asian families. Anyone else noticing a similar trend?
No. In fact my neighborhood of Maryland has seen a significant uptick in Asian families.
2 houses on my Rockville street sold in less than a week..
So, lots of empty residences in your neighborhood? Or are people also moving in? |
Nope, opposite. We’re in the non-wealthy part of Potomac (Seven Locks/Tuckerman/Montrose) and we are seeing lots of young families moving in. All the sellers are older couples moving to downsize. Most houses go pretty quickly.
Please stop starting these threads. Your obsession with this "issue" is bizarre. |
This MoCo hater must be stopped.
Same here. |
Two new Asian families in my neighborhood
Not surprising OP. Many years ago older whites moved out when Asians started to mobile in for better schools. Now Asians are starting to move out because they realize decline in school system here. Asians are super tuned in with education.
^ move in not “mobile in” dang phone
4 houses on my street in Bethesda have sold in the last 2 years but all were people downsizing and all stayed in the Bethesda-ChCh area. New families with kids moved in to the houses. And the houses sold within 2 weeks. So not seeing much of an exodus in my area.
Same as PP (20816 near DC) -- multiple houses sold quickly & for asking, empty nesters down-sizing.
Maybe people just don't like your neighborhood?
Well, I am Asian, living in MoCo and my kids are expected to ace the SAT and ACT, anything less than that is considered failure lol. Many UMC Asian families in my circle are staying in MoCo. Of course many things are not perfect here, but relocating is expensive (~ 10% transaction fee) there are better ways to spend that money. For example, I wouldn't mind spending 10K on tutors per year if needed.
