Meghan Markle and Prince Harry News and Updates Part 2

Harry has been cut off, this is all about him trying to get money and sympathy in the US. I'm not saying that the RF is right, but didn't we all know this is how they operate? Of course they manage every aspect of your life including lunch and travel. And of course a RF is concerned that the baby will look less like Daddy, it might question royal lineage. I mean that's all that they have going for them. I'm assuming all babies are DNA tested to make sure their daddy is the right guy.

Until Queen Elizabeth a courtier observed every royal birth to ensure that the baby was pushed out of the right uterus.

"Do what we want and how we want it or you are on your own."

Not really true.

There’s no precedent for giving a prince title to Archie, or separate security. He’s a great-grandchild. The Queen would have to issue a separate letters patent, which Parliament would then have to approve.

People act like Williams’ and Harry’s kids are on equal footing. They are not and never will be.

Got it thanks. Meghan made it seem like her son was stripped of the title. Said something along the lines of why should my son not have what he is entitled to have...That's why I was confused.

That's not quite it. William's kids already have it because they are children of the heir. Since the time of Elizabeth's father, Archie would get it when his grandfather became king. Right now the monarch is his great grandmother. The BRF was considering changing that tradition so that grandchildren on the reigning monarch NOT get the title. Meghan was pointing out that they were making that change just when Archie and his sister were going to be the ones to benefit. It troubled her that they would change the tradition just when the first person of color would stand to benefit. It troubled her far more that ongoing security for Archie and his sister was tied to that title. So it wasn't just a title. It was a title and security.

That is not true. The law was changed in 2013 just before George was born. Otherwise his siblings would NOT have been HRHs but he would have. They would have been Lord Louis and Lady Charlotte until Charles was King - just like Archie. Meghan's confusion was 'well if they changed the law for one child, while aren't they doing it for the rest'.

You are talking about two different laws.

Umm no. The same law. The letters patent was submitted in 2013 to change the law for any children born to William after his firstborn.

They were having a conversation about how to deal with the possibility of the baby being “too dark.” Anyone who tries to paint this as normal speculation about if baby will resemble mom or dad? have brown eyes or green? — is the definition of gaslighting. It’s also the definition of racism.

You have never been in an Indian family.

Maybe. But personally I’d like to see more juicy gossip leaked because I could care less about the royals nor entitled people crying about titles that mean nothing. It’s sick but fun entertainment.

The title does mean something : access to security. A big deal!

Now that they have completely trashed his family and country, they can pay for their security like celebrities do for themselves. They wanted to break free to make the big bucks, right?

Not working? No security!

Is it as exhausting as the "you're a racist if you're a Trump supporter"? They both sound about equal

It is appalling they decided otherwise.

I’m also disappointed about the fact that they didn’t want to provide security. Is it because the security is more expensive or more racist?

Seriously- it cannot possibly be worth it to have the whole family be destroyed this way.

Finally- i still think it’s HRH Charles that made the skin color reference. I’m gonna be honest- that many is sketchy

I agree with this. You could tell by the way he talked about Charles.

Then what do you think caused the "space" between Harry and his brother?

IMO the affair and him not speaking out in support of Meghan when Harry did speak out in support of Kate

+100

Also I think that William would be the most upset out of anyone that he left. Charles is very hard working and also has Anne and Edward to pick up the slack. (Andrew obviously is a huge liability). It was always only the two of them and William is not as keen to work as Charles so it means more work. Additionally, I don’t think that either of them really enjoy being in the royal family but for William the advantages ultimately outweigh the downsides because he’s the actual heir.

?

They already have been. Said in the interview security was discontinued in 2020.

I mean...Indians are some of the most self-hating groups of individuals. Its not a good thing that Indians are so obsessed with skin color that the only Bollywood stars are the 'fairest' that can be possibly be found and the lighter you are the better. It didn't used to be that way until the British colonial empire took control. Internalized hate.

I know it's silly but I've always been a big fan of hers. She seemed like a nice, normal person who just happened to be so pretty that she caught the eye of a prince. She also didn't seem that into the job, like she married him because she loves him not because she wants to be queen that badly.

This news that she didn't stand up for Meghan, that she didn't issue a correction of what really happened with Meghan at the dress fitting, that she is married to a racist who questions the skin color of his nephew, etc.

It's really disappointing. I feel like I can't be a fan anymore.

No, she came out ok to me. Meghan said she’s apologized and sent flowers. I didn’t hear anything that was critical of Kate.

I did not like Kate before the interview. After listening to how controlling and heavy handed the "Firm" is to the family, Kate is just tryin to lay low while keeping her head barely above water. She does not want to be on the bad side of the Firm.

Yes, but that isn't what Meghan was talking about. She's talking about this:

"It is possible that Archie could receive a royal title later in life. When his grandfather, Prince Charles becomes king (in the event of Queen Elizabeth's death), the title of "prince" will be automatically given to him as the child of a son of the king.". This is the family was proposing to change.

No. He’s hanging the tea over X-person’s head. They know who they are. They know he knows. Awkward.

They made a nasty accusation of racism attributed to no particular person and know full well the royals can’t/won’t defend themselves from it.

Tasteless, but par for the course for this couple.

I don't think most Americans get British humour, particularly that of older generations where racist stereotypes were seen as harmless good fun even if said without malice.

No, I didn’t wonder if it was a joke. I did wonder if it was just someone from a good place genuinely wondering what the baby will look like? I totally wondered that about Archie myself! Im in a mixed marriage and we wondered that about our own beautiful baby! No big deal.

Did you wonder if your baby came out on the darker -side how it would affect you? That is the part of the question that everyone seems to disregard. People only listened to the first part of the question about the unborn child's coloring, but failed to listen or acknowledge the second part. And it was asked on more than one occasion.

Umm it’s still racism even if that conversation is in an “Indian family.” I am no fan of Meghan but WTF.

Like Kate did? In order to win over the public opinion and the press and be a good sport working royal?
And if she is a Black woman, she should keep her mouth shut, never complain, have no opinion of her own, and understand that it was a joke that her kid might be a darkie?
And that she should not have married into a racist family and called them out on it, cause... well that is her fault too?

She knew what she was getting into, yes, they are a royal British stiff upper lipped family. I wouldn’t have the balls to attempt to change a family like this. She has balls, this Meghan.

Sure, then YOU better never complain about your MIL, MIL, DH, or any single member of your IL family! For all the dcum whiners cutting of ILS left and right also knew what you were getting into? But, no, you all love whining about being victims, but when I black woman does it, she is out of line!
