You never answered the question about all the private school and DC kids and where they resided last spring.

You can deny racism/white supremacy all you want, but it is a part of the equation.

LOL. No. There is nothing racist about expecting someone to follow the rules.

Right, he probably could have gotten away with it had he not made the dramatic changes at such scale and in such a short amount of time. There is no correlation between being a successful football coach and having an above average IQ. But, football coaches are more prone to making poor judgments and operating in the ethical gray zone because they are focused on winning and outcomes, and the ones with lower IQs are more susceptible to finding themselves in the situation Overton is currently in.

What is the relevance of IQ? One thing that appears not to be in dispute is that Overton is a good coach. His teams are disciplined.

Low IQ is code for Black. The white supremacists claim Black people have lower IQ’s.

He would have to do a good job coaching a non-stacked, regular public HS team with no hand picked transfers before we can say if he is actuay a good coach. He has never coached a normal team before. If he wants ti sjow he is a good coach, he can transfer to Lewis without his entourage and start winning games

He’s been named Coach of the year multiple times

So what? He has never coached a real team.

If he wants to prove himself, go work at a public with no transfers or recruits.

Idc how good a coach you are, you can’t win Championships without talent. Good players follow good coaches. Good players usually have options and like to avoid coaches that can’t help them further their goals.

A good coach will try to build a good program when he doesn’t have much to work with. If talent comes and wants to do whatever they have to to be eligible to play for his program, is he supposed say he doesn’t want them because they weren’t there when he got there?

Mickey Thompson left Stone Bridge last year and most of the talent left. From what I hear, the new coach is good, but those kids weren’t taking chances I guess. And Stone Bridge has gone from being ranked every year, to 1-7 this year.

He's never coached on an even playing field, without stacking his team. No way of knowing if he is a good coach.

If he wants to prove himself, he should go coach a team like Lewis without transfers and we will see if he can actually coach.

Here is something I find incredibly obnoxious.

Traditionally All seniors at Hayfield are honored on senior night-the last home game. Including band, dance team, flag.

At that game, Hayfield had already received the VHSL suspension letter. There is a Post article about that game which states the Hayfield players were not made available to the reporters due to pending investigations.

However, the school/coach only acknowledge the senior football players, (and went on and on for some---but not all---of them. The kids who got the resume were of course transfer players)-----departing from our normal tradition.

They said the other seniors in band, dance etc would be recognized at the first home playoff game *knowing the team was suspended and would not be playing*.

So he proves himself if he goes and coaches a team a team without enough talent to win? GTFOH.

What do you mean by not enough talent? A public school team is comprised of the students who live in that school zone. The talent that lives there is the talent you get. That's how it works.

I agree with you-he is afraid to coach a non-stacked, regular team as he might be exposed as a no-talent hack.

Why didn't they acknowledge all the seniors at the last home game as usually?

How sad they were robbed of their senior night. No one has reported on this. So very sad for those dedicated students who support the team every week with their routines perfected after months of practice.

Recognizing seniors on other teams or squads would divert attention from the football team, and the administration sold its soul to give a platform to a charlatan who pledged to deliver a champion football team. What a joke Hayfield has become. The only silver lining is that this fiasco has revealed just how incompetent Michelle Reid is as well.

Wow, I hope that treatment of the other seniors is picked up by media. That's shameful.

Could a sports debacle really cause the downfall of a superintendent? How popular (or unpopular) is she really?

Only the school board can fire her, so she would need to confirm the support of the board members most in sync with her agenda and then placate any opposition on the board.

I don't think she would get fired over this, no matter how embarrassing the scandal is for FCPS and Hayfield. Its hard to find someone willing to take the job and the SB has to do the work of finding someone.
