It's not telling at all in my opinion

I think there is so much energy right now that a two-woman ticket would work. It’s infuriating that not even one woman is being considered on the short list.

So you would vote for a Haley/Sanders ticket if the Dem ticket was two men? You put too much stock in gender being the ONLY issue. I could care less about gender it's about the nominee's stance on issues that align with mine the most. Just sayin'.

Signed an anti-Trump, Harris-disliking voter.

What about the sexual harassment claim he settled last year? I’m sure that would resurface and it’s not a good look for Dems.

Shapiro is not my choice, but I think mentions of the sexual harassment claim need to make it clear that he was not accused of sexual harassment. Someone in his office was accused of sexual harassment, and his office settled the claim.

Maybe you live in a blue area, you were not around in '16, and you dont go outside of your blue area often to know that could not happen. Unfortunately.

It will be Shapiro’s if he wants it. Swing state governor, very moderate. Kamala needs a white man in order to not completely hemmorage white men to Trump.

Republicans will go full out in painting a black woman as antisemitic/anti-Israel. Shapiro neutralizes that entire line of attack, plus will keep Jewish donors engaged/excited.

AIPAC?

Nah. They will put their real money behind Trump. Even putting Shapiro on the ticket doesn't change that. More than once, they have backed a non Jewish candidate over a Jewish one, if they determine that the Jewish one has not sufficiently advocated for Israel's interests.

That person was also hired with a history of harassing women.

A woman tried to address the issue and later felt she was retaliated against.

He shouldn't be the pick

I think some of you give far too much weight to who the GOP is afraid of.

That would be Mark Kelly. Navy test pilot, combat pilot who flew assault missions over Iraq during Desert Storm, Astronaut who flew several missions into outer space. No other candidate can meet that level of badass.

A lot of baggage

Excuse my ignorance, but what baggage does he have? He seems a great choice, but maybe there's something I don't know. He would appeal to the macho white dudes threatened by a woman President.

He also appeals to women who love his devotion to his disabled wife. The only baggage I'm aware of is the fact that unions will not like him. Definitely an issue, in addition to risking his seat.

Not a very substantive answer, but okay.

Progressives won't like him either.

But will the unions like him less than Trump, the guy who is infamous for screwing contractors over and over? Will progressives like him less than Trump, especially given he has Vance in the sidecar?

‘He tries and fails to play man of the people’: Union leaders slam Trump and Vance, boost Harris

https://ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/politics/2024/07/25/union-leaders-trump-vance-harris

Speaking on a press call organized by the Democratic National Committee, Service Employees International Union president April Verrett, who leads a union of around two million members, said Harris “understands the struggles that working families face” in contrast to “the harm Donald Trump will do to working people if he gets his hands back on the reins of power.”

Stuart Appelbaum — the president of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union — rattled off Trump’s business history and argued he brought those same tactics “to the White House, hurting workers all across America” during his first term.
