Don’t lie to yourself. It’s not just fringe. |
Correct. We have DC politicians discussing anti Semitic tropes. There is much more on the underbelly than we know, IMO. |
For the last time NOT LIKING SHAPIRO DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE ANTISEMITIC And continuing to ignore the valid criticism and gaslight is the opposite of what you claim to want. And you know that. Everyone is entitled to an opinion that includes not thinking Shapiro is a good choice without being called antisemitic. Words have meaning and antisemitic doesn't mean questioning someone who is Jewish record the same way any other candidate for political office is. So stop it |
Since tonight's rally is in PA, I guess we assume the pick is Shapiro? |
I'm concerned about Shapiro's stance on Gaza racism toward Palestinians and prefer Walz. However, it is also true that SOME criticism of Shapiro plays on hateful antisemitic stereotypes. Unfortunately these undermine and distract from valid criticism. Same is true of criticism fo Israel. |
Friend has a theory that announcement will come at 11 or 12 to factor in time differences, and impede Vance’s speechwriters as much as possible. |
Because the people who know respect the process, the campaign, and take their jobs seriously. Former Obama staffers have said that only 2-3 people knew the final choice. The information is held closely by the candidate. But now we know we can’t trust you with anything. |
Politico saying sometime this morning, different signs made because final decision not made as of yesterday evening. |
That’s one theory, could also be meaningless. Running mates rarely announced in their home state in the past. |
I didn’t know that was a thing people would spend money on. Wow. |
Does Walz have an official schedule? I assume someone could also track plane flights unless it's Airforce 2. |
PP here. Of course not liking Shapiro isn’t always antisemitic, I would say the majority are not. I’m not a Shapiro fan. I think he should rack up wins as a governor, figure out his stance on school vouchers ( a big negative for me) and run later. I also don’t think we need to have an attack dog. I love the joy Walz brings. But you can’t discount that there are some people on this thread that are anti-Semitic. I hate that we went from so much joy to having this argument all over again. |
Not necessarily. PA is a swing state and someone upthread mentioned that the VP nom is always announced there. My memory isn’t good enough to recall whether that is true. But no one will be surprised if it is Shapiro announced in PA today. Plenty of disappointment, but no surprise. |
Politico has an interesting article about Walzmentum, saying 20 of 22 congressional Dems think it will be Walz. But Dem establishment wants Shapiro and doesn’t get the sudden fervor for Walz. |
Of course the establishment doesn’t get it, typical. Meanwhile, 100K people showed up to the Progressives for Harris zoom. She ignores their goodwill at her peril. |
