When should DC drop its school mask mandate?

As a WTU member I have no idea what he is referring to

I watched it live. I think he just has no good answer (there isn’t one for ignoring CDC and every other country in the world), so he was filibustering and passing the blame to someone else.

I’m a teacher.

After Spring Break, I’m not wearing my mask at all.

I barely wear it now. I only wear it if there are people who are immune compromised or are living with someone who is.

Other than that…mask free baby!

I oppose Mendelson's position here, but at least he's saying where he stands on this issue. All council members and the mayor should have to state where they are on this.

His stance is in direct opposition to the CDC guidance and ignores what his constituents want. Ugh.

His position is no different from an antivaxxer’s. Based on feelings, not on expert medical advice.
I am disgusted.

Is Mendo up for reelection? He's truly a clown. What a disgusting excuse of a city council we have. Just idiots, all of them.

He just lost my vote - makes it an easy decision

Isn’t Erin Palmer his competition? She wears masks outside consistently. I think she’s a forever masker.

I hate this town. I can't believe there isn't someone who can run against the clown car. If Mendo is any indication, you only need to be vaguely competent at being a human.

to add: I legitimately don't care if you personally want to mask forever, just don't be an elected official who demands CHILDREN do it forever.

Whole family wears masks while walking the sidewalk alone.

The memorandum of agreement that led to school reopening in the Fall had a section stating masks would be required. The MOA appeared to be for the entire school year. When I last read it, didn’t appear it’s provisions were tied to the public health emergency or anything.

but wait, then the Mayor could lift the mask mandates for the privates and the un-unionized charters.
