Just 6 months ago, the losses were only 250 to 300 per day. That's a 400% rate increase. To put this into perspective, between 1/4 and 2/5ths of the Active Russian military worldwide has been taken out of combat. Let me say that again. Ukraine, one country, destroyed between 25% to 38% of the entire Active Russian military forces worldwide.

At the rate at which they are destroying Russian soldiers, every 9 to 10 days the equivalent of a Russian Combined Arms Army (CAA) is being destroyed. And this is not just the Russian military. Each Russian male solder killed is 1.5 (the average birthrate) future loyal Russian soldiers that will not be born in this generation. That is 1.5 times less productivity, workforce, population per square kilometer in what's already empty territory.

Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014, and today they occupy 20% of Ukraine; if they proceed with the same speed, in 10 years they will have 40% of Ukraine, and in 20 years they will have 60% of Ukraine (which will probably include Kyiv by that time). Putin's plan is very realistic, unlike Zelensky's.

LOL no. In the last year the Russians have barely advanced the front a kilometer or two from where they were this time last year. They are currently hundreds of km from Kyiv. And for as many people as they are recruiting/conscripting/hiring as mercenaries, they are losing just as many every month, in addition to losing anyone who has any military training and losing billions in irreplaceable military equipment along the way.

Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014, and today they occupy 20% of Ukraine; if they proceed with the same speed, in 10 years they will have 40% of Ukraine, and in 20 years they will have 60% of Ukraine (which will probably include Kyiv by that time). Putin's plan is very realistic, unlike Zelensky's.

I'm not the poster you're talking to, but it has to do with the "rate of progress". But even if you don't believe that math, let's try to explain it in another way.

LOL no. In the last year the Russians have barely advanced the front a kilometer or two from where they were this time last year. They are currently hundreds of km from Kyiv. And for as many people as they are recruiting/conscripting/hiring as mercenaries, they are losing just as many every month, in addition to losing anyone who has any military training and losing billions in irreplaceable military equipment along the way.

They obviously advanced more than 10 km in Sumy and Kharkiv regions in the last half year.

This is a very tragic war for everyone involved except Putin. It is detrimental to both countries (it’s actually an understatement when talking about Ukraine) and there is no clear cut, easy way out. People who say “but Putin can stop it tomorrow” are being disingenuous because of course he won’t stop.

I actually agree that the Ukrainian victory is inevitable, but at a huge cost and yet unknown consequences.
