| I few years ago I mentioned how my ex husbands affair came to light as its kind of a really random/distinctive story. I was in line at Starbucks and the lady 2 customers in front of me ordered my husbands drink which is VERY specific and completely made up by him/I've never heard of it anywhere else. She also ordered a normal drink with it. It was *just* enough info that got my wondering and I started digging around and the whole thing came to light. I remember reading on DCUM how one woman smelled the hairspray her college roommate used on her husband once in awhile. Just one of those subconscious memory triggers that got her wondering. In my experience affairs come to light after a random/not terribly serious or guilty thing happens but its enough to trigger an internal signal that once turned on brings more to the surface fairly quickly. Anyone have a unique uncovering story? |

I don't know if my story qualifies but here we go:
Marriage was already on the fritz and I took our kids to see my parents for two weeks. When I returned I found condoms in the nightstand and we didn't use them... Confronted my ex that I had proof of his infidelity without referencing the condoms, only that I had "solid" proof. He got really flustered and finally talked about "emails" with another woman that were inappropriate but "nothing ever happend" he then forwarded the emails to me to prove his innocence. Those emails were from 2 years prior and not innocent if read between the lines. What an idiot |
| I came home from a rained-out soccer game and found myself locked out of our house. My mom and her AP were in there and I could hear their voices through the window. I was 14. My parents divorced and she is still with the AP. Our relationship has never fully recovered. |
| Not me but a friend. Was divorcing her husband - so at least she had that going for her. She hired attorney A. STBX hired attorney B. It turned out that attorney A, through emails, discovered that STBX was having an affair with attorney B's wife, unbeknownst to any of the other parties. This was in a large city. |
That’s sad. Life is short. |
It is sad, but when a parent has bad enough judgement to indulge in afternooners when living walking distance from the high school, this little anecdote is only the tip of the iceberg. |

In terms of 'just knowing' I remember my mother hearing a story I was telling about two friends parents, and telling me they must be having sex because a man wouldn't otherwise speak to a woman that way.
My two friends each had a parent who was a realtor and worked for the same company. Both were married. The mother realtor was really superficial, annoying and we were all laughing that he said "Shut up, Diane!" to her during a mild disagreement/conversation. We laughed because she WAS annoying and we always wanted her to shut up. My mother wasn't social with either of them but when I described the interaction she 'knew'. Divorced, a few years went by, ran into one of the friends who told me her realtor dad had been banging our other friend's realtor mother. I remember how strange/annoyed I thought it was when she said that about them having sex- I said "you have sex with dad and he doesn't speak to you like that" and she just gave me this level look and repeated the story for my grandmum who was visiting and waited for her reaction "oh, they're diddling!" she said. |
He hired his affair partner’s husband? That’s brazen. |
+1. It's psycho-level brazen. You are lucky to have gotten rid of that guy! |

My H logged into our family apple account on his new phone.
It synced with my ipad and my son's iphone. All his girlfriends texts went to our devices. |
| Somebody posted on DCUM recently about his wife coming to surprise him on a business trip. I guess she used her ID to get a key and let herself into his hotel room and he was in bed with his AP!! |
How old were you? Your mom told you that your friends' parents were having an affair/being cheated on, based on that? Even if she was correct, that seems wildly inappropriate to say to you. And your grandmother too? That's awful. |
yes but the grandmother said "They're DIDDLING" so that makes it ok. |
| Every person in PP’s story is an asshole: the APs, the mom, the grandmother, and PP. Trash. |
Yikes. I'm sorry. |
