A pretty timely case study on why a ground invasion needs to be avoided. It'd be disastrous with US ground force troops devastated (MUCH harder to attack than defend).

What a disaster. Looks like the US shut down another operation that was on going to “rescue” the pilots. The f-15 was shot down in Boyer-Ahmad provinces and the makeshift air field use was in Isfahan Province. About 175-200 miles distant and deeper in to Iran. It would have been easier to fly in from bases out side of Iran.

It does not make sense.

Who knows? The only thing released by DOD is a fake picture with some guy holding an American flag. The interesting thing is the back seat guy was a Colonel or captain in navy(o-6 senior field-grade officer). Most back seaters are really young and low rank like Lt(0-1or2) or Captain(0-3).
Maybe the US military really could not let a senior commander with operational knowledge fall in to the hands of the Iranians?

That picture was A.I.-generated which is why I removed it. I will remove anything that I think was created by A.I. and am willing to even sacrifice a few false positives if necessary. I detest A.I.-generated content. Thumbs up to the DCUM poster who identified the photo as A.I. almost immediately.
