Trump kind of went on at length about the "surprising" news about Kavanaugh's attachment to beer, claiming (falsely) that BK admitted to having "a little bit of difficulty" with alcohol. You can tell in his comments he thinks poorly of people who drink to excess.

In today’s press conference, Trump said something to the effect that he’s never had a drink, alcohol has never touched his lips and he asked, “Can you imagine what I’d be like, if I did?”

It was a funny line.

Good for Trump. Think how many American lives would be saved by avoiding alcohol. "Buzzed driving is drunk driving."

And, he has undergone 6 FBI background investigations. You really don’t believe that if a drinking problem existed, that they would no discover it? You really believe that?
Since you have “undergone several security clearances,” you must realize that they talk to more than just the candidate. They talk to neighbors, friends, coworkers, etc.
You really think they would miss this?

Yes. And, that is just for basic FBI background checks. The higher the job, the more in-depth they go. And, they don't just go to the people you list on the application. They go to others who lived in close proximity to you. And, in all these checks, none of this came out?

Exactly.

And no job interview I ever had asked asked my drinking in college. ESPECIALLY when I was 30 years past college.

Stop being disengenuous. The questions about drinking are to ascertain whether the accusations that he assaulted a 15 year old girl while drunk could be true. If he didn't drink at all, if no one had ever seen him get drunk or drink more than lightly, that would be one thing to refute Ford's testimony.

Though personally I will say, I would never hire someone if I knew they were a mean drunk. Have too many of those in my family and it's not fun, even if they aren't sexually assaulting you.

Agreed. As for the PP’s statement regarding past drinking behavior, I’ve undergone several security clearances and questions about past alcohol and drug abuse are the norm. The key is being honest and forthright because the concern is that if you’re not candid, this could become something to blackmail you with.

Year another reason Kavanaugh’s lack of candor is troubling.

Who provides the FBI with names to check for security clearances?

As the pp above you pointed out - they do not limit the checks to the people on your list. They ask around. Especially for higher up positions. I know this is correct.

The only reason he was originally confirmed was because Bush personally made it happen. Who knows what was or wasn't in the previous background investigations?

I despise Trump, but this joke is actually funny. Can he make more jokes about himself?

Key paragraph from NBC/Ramirez text story - he's truly sunk if this is true

Further, the texts show Kavanaugh may need to be questioned about how far back he anticipated that Ramirez would air allegations against him. Berchem says in her memo that Kavanaugh “and/or” his friends “may have initiated an anticipatory narrative” as early as July to “conceal or discredit” Ramirez.

Apparently she collected unemployment while on paid sick leave. She and creepy porn lawyer are made for each other. How lovely.

You rail on the porn lawyer, but not the President, who had an affair with the porn star while his wife was home with their infant. Why?

I wonder if Bush and Kavanaugh were in the same fraternity.

Gee, can't imagine why she might seem a bit unwell.

Do you believe her? Witnesses consisting of someone who doesn't know her, someone else who is dead, and two who didn't respond to NBC? Changed the claim from her statement that Kavanaugh was involved in spiking the punch to him just hanging out by the punch and handing out red solo cups. A police report she claims was made, but for which there was no apparent subsequent investigation?

Because his mother spiked it.

Is there a source for this? I've tried googling it but haven't come up with anything.

I should have just googled. Yes, they were both in DKE.

I will believe the actual facts when I hear about them from the FBI or other reputable agency.
The press, and many liberals, have put out so much misinformation about Kavanaugh that I believe almost none of it.
