LCPS sexual assualt - who is held accountable?

It had nothing to do with this spectre the right wants to conjure, of a girl being pounced upon by a skirt-wearing man while she is changing a tampon. It was, essentially, date rape…no less rape, but very different than the idea of a predatory man lurking in wait in an unsuspecting girl who thought he was a girl.

Can we at least agree now that bad things are increasingly likely to happen if we knowingly let boys into girls bathrooms/locker rooms?

Do we know that? Is there data on unisex bathrooms leading to increased incidents of rape? Does that change if you're talking about trans students?

You're being willfully obtuse, or ignorant, if you don't believe it's a bad idea to let boys into girls supposedly safe places.

54 pages and two weeks later no sign of accountability.

Gotta love that equity tho!

I think you're misstating the question. I'd want to know if letting trans girls use girls bathrooms/locker rooms increases the risks. You're claiming that boys will pretend to be trans to access bathrooms/locker rooms -- is there any evidence of that happening? Obviously it didn't happen here -- is it happening elsewhere? How frequently? Does the policy take steps to make sure that doesn't happen? If so, what are they?

The assault was investigated. The rapist has been arrested and charged. There's no evidence that he used LCPS bathroom policies to access the bathroom. What accountability do you think is missing?

You got to the point I was making. There are no steps, criteria etc. to ensure that only trans boys are allowed in there. There was a motion brought up in the school board to provide guidance/requirements/etc (doctor's note? phycologist note? Anything?) versus it being a free-for-all/honor system. The school board shot it down. Now, anyone, at any time, on any day, can wake up and identify as a girl and have full access and no one can stop them. This is a problem that most people have with it. Not the astronomically small number of actual trans kids this was polisy was supposed to support.

They should just make all of the bathrooms unisex and be done with it.

I take it you don't have daughters.

No.

A transgender girl going into a girl's bathroom isn't a boy going into a girl's bathroom.

Why don't you Google some transgender teen activists and look at their images and how they present themselves. Most are so "passing" that you, as the general public, would question seeing them using the "correct sex" bathroom. Just hop on Instagram or TikTok and look up the trans hashtag.

No one outside of my family knows that my niece is trans. The school system in her state knows but none of her classmates or teachers know. If she walked into the men's room, she'd be questioned and stopped because she looks nothing like a teenage boy or young man.

Skirting the question asked, while shady af, isn't illegal.

He also didn't allow a sex offender to perpetrate again. The student was an alleged sex offender. Alleged. Innocent until proven guilty. You have to accept that in all cases, even these terrible ones.

The laws set forth by the US Gov and VDOE had to be followed. LCPS Ziegler and the school board lied, but they also did so within the confines of the law. They followed the law and I've yet to see anything otherwise stating so.

It's frustrating as hell for us parents, but the law is the law. Do I still think the should all resign? Yes.

No one is knowingly letting boys into girls bathrooms and locker rooms. Honestly, you people. How many trans girls do you think are presenting as girls (and possibly taking hormones to prevent the development of secondary sexual characteristics) are doing so to get a peak or to have sex? Literally nothing about this boy raping a girl has anything to do with trans students, nothing at all.

I’m shocked Ziegler hadn’t resigned.

Have you emailed him and all the lunatics sitting on the school board? Keep campaigning until he leaves. Nah, he ain’t leaving. You can wake up now from your dream.
