Let's make this as clear as possible: Republicans gave two corrupt Democrats money in order to get them to sabotage a Democrat bill. Manchin got $1.5m, Sinema got $1m. End of story. |
That's pretty cheap compared to how much money Democrats poured into races for Beto O'Rourke, Cal Cunningham, Sara Gideon, Amy McGrath, and Jaime Harrison. I recall each candidate had a $50 million warchest from funds pouring in and they all still lost. |

It’s interesting how much Manchin and the rest of the GOP hate working people. The coal miners in WV want BBB to pass. They know coal is dying. They know they need to change to renewables so that there are jobs. And the coal mine owners are fighting it.
But it gives QOP pps a little thrill to think of a Democrat looking like the one to stop the insanely popular legislation that the GOP doesn’t want passed. Here’s an article that QOP pps won’t read. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/01/10/manchin-bbb-coal-miners-vs-owners/ |
The owners are fighting and the miners will forget it the moment their pension plan is attached as a rider to another bill.
|
It's the coal miners union that wants BBB to pass. What, if anything, the actual coal miners want is unknown. |
Told ya. |
OOoo a reporter actually said 'Build Back Better has been shelved' live in the White House press room! Psaki got heated.
|
Black lung provision WHERE? Manchin already scuttled the bill. Unless he's saying he's willing to come back to the table. |
Clearly as a rider in a separate bill all together. With the way the Dems are pushing he could put it in the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and no one would blink - ‘Shut up coal pensions are essential to the democratic process!’ |
|
Isn't it remarkable how quickly Biden (and Pelosi and Schumer) pivoted from BBB to voting rights once BBB was declared on life support?
The bill they claimed was the most important piece of legislation until it wasn't. Now, voting rights is. |

Clinton drops more charisma in one interview than Biden has in an entire year.
