The "C" word

Anonymous
I've been seeing this guy since just after the new year. He is really good looking, smart, successful snd treats me really well. I pretty much like everything about him. EXCEPT... he uses the C word a lot!

Whenever he references my girl part, whether its in bed, in conversation or by text, no matter what we are doing it is always "your c***". It makes me cringe whenever I hear it.

It doesn't seem like its a big deal to him, it just rolls off his tongue like its a normal word.

Am I being oversensitive?

So I'm not one of those "the C word is the worst word ever" people but this would be a deal breaker. It just sounds so crass and not sexy at all.

Have you told him the word makes you cringe?

Is he British?

Have you told him you don't like it? Have you asked him to stop?

Do so, now. You'll find out how much he respects you and likes you by his actions.

That's what I was wondering. Even if he is though, if you tell him it makes you super uncomfortable and what words you'd prefer, a decent guy would switch to those.

No, he's pure American. From Virginia.

Yeah, I don't think it's the worst word ever, but I don't think I'd like to hear it that often, particularly in bed. It would sorta be like a man thinking "gash" or "slit" was sexy. I would tell him your preference and see how he responds. If he doesn't change, he's probably a neanderthal in other undiscovered areas.

I haven't said anything. I honestly don't know what to say. If it was a one of thing I would probably say "I prefer wjen you call it my _______" but he so comfortable saying it and has never used other words for it.

Is the C word “can’t?”

Why didn't you tell him the first time he used it that you didn't like it?

I hated being called Baby as a term of endearment. I don't like Babe either, but not as bad. First time someone I was dating called me that, I told him, don't do it- I don't like it. Guys usually respected me and my preference. Usually only got called that by mistake, when they forgot. I would give them a look and they'd remember.

You need to get into therapy to figure out why you feel like you can't speak your mind. This isn't a C-word issue. This is a I don't have a voice issue.

Different vowel, without the apostrophe.

Does he watch a lot of porn?

I'm not totally against porn, but I feel like this kind of behavior is evident of a generation of males who don't understand that Porn Is Not Real Life, and think that women like to be talked or treated a certain way in bed.

Listen. You need to tell him "I really don't like that work. Please please stop saying it to me!" If he forgets, or thinks you are not serious, tell him in a more serious way. Get up and leave the room and get mad.

I use the word myself to refer to other women who are, well, c***s, but only with my DH and best friend.

I have dumped a lot of women just for using the C word too much.
