Ahh. So the big reason they are going to change and run completely different from how the do now is because a few kids (way way less than now! might be trapped? They could organize by grade right now and avoid 99.9% of trapped players if they wanted to. But they don't. |
Are you kidding me? If the entire school has a mandatory school trip coaches can make whatever face they want. The team will be on the trip. You have no clue. |
What club has kids from the same school on it? Again, you show how you're soccer involvement is at such a low (and recent) level. |
I said everyone in a single grade makes things easier for clubs. I didnt say anything about players all being at the same school. You added that part. But it doesnt matter its just easier if everyone is in the same grade even if theyre not at the same school. |
Nope, not possible because in BY Aug-Dec birthdays cant play on their correct grade in school team. |
Why? You keep saying this like it makes it true the more you say it. It is not easier for clubs to run or manage teams by grade. They don't run by grade now, they did not run by grade before, all of the systems they use to manage teams and players are via age bracket (you can't even run any of the CRMs they use 'by Grade') but somehow and in some way, running them by grade is easier? Because of school trips? Just stop man. This angle of your argument is the weakest. |
Sure they can. Plenty of small clubs around me have SY teams in the current BY system. Some of the kids just have to 'play up'. No biggie. |
Yes, every player has a Graduating Year Clubs and leagues and teams are grouped by DOB Month/Year I would ask if you're stupid, but that point has been prove |
Yup. Being trapped is having no team for 6 months. Playing with your school team or not for a couple of weeks and missing a few games isn't the same. Teams have such large rosters that a kid playing in school for a few practices just isn't the same issue or an issue at all. It would be like a kid getting hurt and missing a few weeks. Happens so often it is hardly noticed by the club and their 25 person rosters. |

Another Facebook thread (from yesterday) where parents are reporting that clubs are allowing Aug birthdays to play on the team thats their grade in school. Also 99% of comments are suggesting parents play their kid on their grade in school team.

Well, since parents on FB are saying it, then the calendar age group system using DOB will be scrapped so that Chad and Amy can play with Brad and Kim from Chemistry class in school |
Wouldn't that make Chad/Brad and Amy/Kim school grade cohorts and wasnt changing from BY to SY done so more school geade cohorts could play on the same teams together? |
|
| In California all club soccer shuts down during high school season, it will be up to the player to decide to skip club practice for high school. |
No. If they wanted to push for schoolmates play-dates, they would have went to a school grade groupings system. Not calendar DOB SY is Season Year |
