NYC mayor declares 'emergency' due to migrants

The difference in coverage between the New York Post and the New York Daily News on this issue is remarkable. NYP discusses the impact on students, DN ignores the issue and talks about 60 day evictions for migrants.

The Constitution says you can’t be forced to house government soldiers. Doesn’t say they can’t make you house illegal aliens. Here it comes.

The NY Daily News article focused almost exclusively on the impact this has on the migrants - those here illegally.
https://www.nydailynews.com/2024/01/09/city-hall-orders-migrants-at-floyd-bennett-to-be-evacuated-to-brooklyn-high-school/

Same with the NY Times.
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/01/09/nyregion/migrant-families-floyd-bennett-tent-evacuation-rain.html

Amazing, really. The citizens who live in the city and pay exorbitant taxes that pay for education and are forced to educate children remotely are ignored by these publications.

Buckle up, because it’s about to get worse given the civil war in Ecuador.

It really shouldn’t be that hard. Step one would be identifying owners who have misused property. Step two would be performing background checks on this owners to ensure the migrants are not housed in a potentially unsafe environment. Step three would be assigning migrant families to the appropriate home - close to strong schools, services, transportation, and retail. Finally, the city should provide some sort of monetary stipend to owners of selected underutilized properties to cover the cost of feeding the migrants, laundering, transporting them, assisting with migrant child care if needed, etc.

Democrats suffer from pathological altruism, and they’re going to take the rest of us down with them.

They’ve run out of hotel rooms, are kicking kids out of school for illegal housing and now they want your homes too.

How much more evidence do we need that Washington is orchestrating an invasion of this country?

This issue, more than any other, shows Washington’s commitment to national security and the safety and prosperity of its citizens to be a sham, but above all, it exposes the fraud of “our democracy.”

Mass immigration not only puts enormous strain on public services and the labor market—rendering the progressive agenda a farce—but it dilutes the political power of the average citizen. Like war, mass immigration enriches donors, reinforces patronage, and insulates government officials from democratic challenges. Mass immigration is a betrayal, for it severs the connection between elected officials and their voters, relieving lawmakers of their promises and obligations and redistributing the power of the electorate to a managed constituency. Mass immigration allows corrupt and derelict leaders to rely on suffrage to shield them from reform. If you have any doubts, just take a look at the once-great State of California.

This manufactured crisis is an assault on our sovereignty, our way of life, and the last remains of our democratic system. Clearly Washington fears the US electorate and hopes to stave off any threat of reform by importing another.

This may be the greatest betrayal our country has ever seen.

Approximately 1.9k migrants from Floyd Bennett Field will be temporarily relocated to James Madison High School

The school will be shut down and students will attend virtual classes

This incident confirms what we knew all along, the camp at Floyd Bennett Field is unsustainable

This is beyond anything I ever imagined would happen in this country. U.S. citizens having to leave a school and "learn" virtually so that illegal immigrants can use the building? Unacceptable and disgusting.

Amazing. American kids should be prioritized to attend in person schools. American kids education should not suffer due to illegals being in the US.

This administration has decided that American kids can pound sand. Remember when Biden took over in 2021 and schools in Democrat areas were kept shut, but illegal aliens were given in person classes down at the border? The admin was proudly showing pictures of classrooms for migrant kids, while our kids in the DMV were locked out of schools.
None of this is surprising if you have been paying attention.

Blue state voters are so naive. They fall for Mayorkas’s lies, & when CNN tells them the border is fine, they believe it. So they will keep electing the same morons who allow this to happen.

They had to email requests to their teachers to request a Zoom call if any questions.

So…no teacher led online instruction at all.

Just kids sitting at home in Brooklyn all on their own.

I would be livid if I were living in that district.

Wouldn't that make these parents racist? I have been told that any discomfort that illegal aliens may cause is just my white supremacy coming out.
If these parents really cared about their kids, they would stay home and help them with their work and supplement and stop blaming brown people.

I wish we still had the thread about the border itself, but it got locked due to “RWNJ and crazy people commenting”. Weird timing!

That video was from June 2023 and Adams is talking about using Biden/Fed $ to pay churches and individuals to house migrants. Latter would be like taking in a boarder.

The "guests" have now left the NYC PS. https://abc7ny.com/nyc-migrants-floyd-bennett-field-james-madison-high-school-asylum-seekers/14305386/ It's a school with scanners for weapons [not applicable to migrants], high poverty, etc - https://abc7ny.com/nyc-migrants-floyd-bennett-field-james-madison-high-school-asylum-seekers/14305386/

All NYC public schools offer free breakfast, lunch, and an afterschool meal. This school for 2021-22 had 3,497 students with
Free lunch eligible1: 2,333 Reduced-price lunch eligible1: 215 Total1: 2,548. So where do they go to eat? Did NYC have the migrants out by breakfast?

AOC is a congresswoman representing NYC and she just went on the Daily Show to promote open borders.

Even as the consequences finally come home, Democrats don’t care, they’ve committed the country to a suicide pact.

Video of AOC who purports the problem is documentation - just stick them all on a path to citizenship with the ability to work. So what does this mean? Just pass out the papers to any crossing the border, flying in on tourist/student visa with intent to overstay?

Ellis Island had limits. So in actuality the entire rest of the world gets the ability to come here and work immediately, all benefits, and a path to citizenship? So except for citizenship the rest of the world would be like Puerto Ricans?
