Grown man sitting down on toilet to pee

Anonymous
On occasion. Nothing wrong medically. Normally stands up, but says sometimes he just doesn’t feel like it. And no, it’s not sitting down to go #2 and he does it at that time out of convenience. Not a germaphobe trying to avoid the posts-pee shake and splatter that most men decorate the bathroom floor with. He just sits down on the toilet seat in the same manner a woman has to sometimes when he has to urinate.

What do you think about this?

I think it’s odd that you’re commenting on it. DH does it too. So what...

So you are saying this isn’t odd, and this is common among all men?

A comment in another thread had a (rude) remark about never being intimidated by someone that sits down to pee. That poster was implying a woman - and made me wonder about the men who do it.

This question has been asked and answered so many times on various fora here. What's your problem? My DH is very tall and sits because peeing from higher up means lots of splash. I never have to put the toilet seat down and there's never any mess. Why would you not think this was anything but a plus.

In what universe does this matter?

Is that your DH, OP? You should divorce him.

I do this but I have a wife and two daughters so it’s more about not lifting the toilet seat ever.

Some might think it a problem that I don’t study DCUM history and I’m not an expert on the daily, monthly, and annual posting topics. But I could ask the same of you - what’s your problem? Why are you so confrontational about my question? I’ll never understand the appeal of being rude. I doubt you would say this to me in person.

I see the benefit of cleanliness for a tall person. This person is short so that logic doesn’t apply.

I think it’s extremely strange and you should clearly be questioning his masculinity. Does he do other not-so-manly things like drink tea?

What kind of Real Man sits to pee?!

Makes sense for that purpose. This person is single, no girls in the house and no need to worry about seats. They said they get tired of standing up. They don’t work a laborious job or have any (identified) health condition where physical exhaustion is the status quo.

Started doing this when I became a dad and was up a lot at night. Didn’t want to turn on the light. I still know how to pee standing when I’m in a gross bar or whatever. Why is this a big deal.

My DH has always sat to pee (told me a funny story about it when we were dating, but that was over 25 years ago and I don't remember the story). Talking about atWho cares?

I think ihe can pee however he wants too.

Slightly off topic but where did the idea come from that women can’t pee standing?

Sorry - he sits to pee at home, not in a public restroom.

Who cares how he pees?
