Shutterfly—Never again.

Worst customer service ever.

Paid $7 for shipping. Was supposed to arrive last Saturday. Still not here. UPS transferred to USPS and now I can’t even track. Online chat option doesn’t work (always busy). Call wait time? 73 minutes!

Ugh, I hate when companies transfer orders to USPS

OP here and really, if it’s free shipping, I completely understand and expect this. But when I’m paying $7 to ship paper (10 cards and a sheet of address labels), I expect it to take the shortest route, not the longest.

So much for Christmas cards this year.

You're getting kind of a late start...plan ahead next time? Not to excuse Shutterfly, but these things happen.

We ordered Shutterfly cards with super expedited shipping on Sunday night and the cards arrived on Tuesday. Writing them now, going out tomorrow (and yes we are behind).

I ordered them December 5th! Shipping ETA was 3-7 days.

This is why I do a New Years card.

For future reference, I've switched to Costco photo cards because they are AWESOME. They don't have as *many* designs, but the ones they have are nice, and they are SUPER fast and SUPER cheap! Their stationery/coated cardstock are about half what you pay for at Shutterfly/Tiny Prints, and the photo paper cards are half of that. We ordered on Dec 7 and had them in hand on Dec 11. $70 inc shipping for 100 cardstock cards (with photos on front AND back and with return addresses printed on the envelopes). Photo paper cards would have been about $30.

It took longer than expected for our shutterfly cards to arrive (longer than their initial estimate). However, I ordered in November so not a big deal.

do you need to be a costco member?

It's the USPS transfer, especially over a weekend. That's where packages go to die.

Frequent Shutterfly user here. It's the fault of USPS. They are running way behind this year, though the other shippers are too. Shutterfly shoudln't give guarantees though, if they know their shippers can' tmeet them.

I have a Shutterfly order that was transfered from UPS to "USPS Mail Innovations" two days ago and no update of course since then.

I had another package to Europe I sent by DHL guaranteed. It got stuck in Germany and missed the guaranteed delivery date (Friday) annd instead arrived MOnday. I tried to file a claim and they (DHL) rejected it saying it was a "mechanical failure" and therefore out of their control. Well if their plane broke, that's exatcly IN their control -- they should have a backup plan if they have rickety planes!

All I do now is ordre way in advance and hope things arrive roughly when they are promised.

I hear you - I had to follow up with Shutterfly multiple times about both of my packages since Thanksgiving (but I did eventally receive them). I think the chat may not start until noon EST (9am PST) so maybe give that a try later on. My other tip is that the wait times on the phone seemed to be better later in the evening - like after 8pm.

good luck!

I agree USPS is the worst this year. I had a similar Shutterfly issue- I actually ordered a batch before thanksgiving (baby shower invites) and received them quickly. However, my co-just was wildly off with the headcount and I had to order a few extra. Thankfully the extra were for the guest of honor and a couple others who already knew the details, because it took a full 2 weeks to receive the second batch! Also seemed to be stuck at the UPS-USPS transfer. They did eventually show up but I’d about given up, and Shutterfly customer service is useless.
