So clearly the vda coach is favoring his pwsi club. That is a problem. I agree with the post that says 06's should be developed if they tried out and didn't make it. Having 07's that are no better than the A team players would def piss me off.

Does VDA release a list of the previous club the players come from ? Richmond United released one but I haven't seen one from VDA or the other local DA's.

Not sure, but I would bet the club with the highest percentage of players do come from pwsi.

Since fall soccer is starting, are there any especially good teams or rivalries or special players my elementary school age soccer playing DS and I can go watch? Since I hear there's good talent on some teams, we'd like to go see them play a game.

Remember that the old TD took some kids with him to his new club, so that could partially explain the imbalance of representation from the kids' legacy clubs.

Go and watch some DA teams but other than perhaps seeing kids a little older may help relate really there is nothing to be gained. You would be better watching a pro game on TV or live.

Go see a Washington Spirit game. It's a nice atmosphere, even for those of us who don't have daughters who play.

^this! hahahahahahaha, very true though bunch of bros on Saturday morning's pretending they're watching the best of soccer with PL matches, they for the most part have no idea who or what to watch for. If you're used to a drawn out 3 hour sports match a soccer match is going to go right over your head.

Back to an earlier question about how BRYC's scrimmages are going:

They had their first set of club v club scrimmage versus/at Fredericksburg two Saturdays ago. Since it is August with beach traffic and a couple fender benders it took most parents over two hours to get down there.

Last weekend and this upcoming weekend up in Boyds for tournaments.

Only other scheduled scrimmage is back down in Fredericksburg in a few weeks.

Doesn't seem so bad, though if you're like most other soccer parents you're going to find another sport or soccer team your child can be a part of fill in the weekends when there isn't a scrimmage/tournament.

I meant you wouldn't get much out of going to a DA game you dolt. What do you think watching a "Pro game on TV or live" means? It means a "Professional game". The last I checked, MLS, NWSL as well as USL are all actual Professional leagues too. Do you think I actually meant to hop a plane to Manchester or Real Madrid?

Don't mean to break up the discussion but just wondering how Super Y, or Super-Duper Y, was this summer for your DS or DD??? Was the travel manageable? Do soccer practices and the DMV heat make for a kind of torture? Did you find that the coaching was decent (seems like Super Y attracts college coaches looking for a moonlighting gig)? And was it fun for your DS or DD, or does soccer just fit better with fall and spring? TIA!!!
