SY with Aug birthdays playing up with their grade is almost like GY. The only players that arent allowed to roster are the very few school districts that start in July and the kids parents hold back in school so they're the biggest on sports teams. These kids cant play on the correct grade in school team. Everyone else can.

I just looked at New Jersey TS and what you're describing is not true. In fact there appears to be several people saying your posts are ridiculous. Which makes sense considering cutoff dates are late Sept and even into Nov in the NE. Meaning the amount of "August" players they have to deal with would be 2x or even 3x more than around here. It would be impossible to try and manage them all one by one you'd have to relay a single statement that everyone would abide by.

Yeah, and what they're saying it's all going to be by age, with limited exceptions. When Aug guy starts rattling off the clubs who say they'll try to align by grade, poster at one club said they're not really doing it. It's more like all talk. For example:

"Reality is whatever makes the best teams is what the clubs will do.

"Literally MF, PSA, PF, Copa all indicated either on website or publicly on video that they plan to group August September birthdays on their grade in school team."

And it's directly challenged by someone who says they are at one of those clubs, but OK (more back and forth on that earlier in the thread in fact).

Soccer picked 8/1. Clubs and August kids aren't going to play up just to appease one crazy poster trying to make his Sept kid the oldest and avoid competing with an August girl. Forcing playing up choosing to play up when not ready would be like paying a volunteer tax, nobody does it because it's not in their best interest.

Yes, so when NJ posters on the other board say MF isn't allowing it, that could be true especially at their national team level because no one meets their strict criteria. It just wasn't possible.

So, what we have here is a club landing more on the side of grade BUT ultimately giving themselves a loophole to do whatever they want. It's pretty much the same case-by-case flexibility that Arlington gave itself.

SY with Aug birthdays playing up with their grade is almost like GY. The only players that arent allowed to roster are the very few school districts that start in July and the kids parents hold back in school so they're the biggest on sports teams. These kids cant play on the correct grade in school team. Everyone else can.

You're in denial. It's probably because the NJ posters are also challenging you, including people saying how those clubs who will "try" to align by grade really aren't.

There's a new thread over on Talking Soccer NJ ... Aug guy/or someone with strikingly similar views is getting similar pushback there. At one point, he/she even references our lengthy thread here and how there's a whole grand cabal trying to convince Aug parents that playing on age is OK.

I just looked at New Jersey TS and what you're describing is not true. In fact there appears to be several people saying your posts are ridiculous. Which makes sense considering cutoff dates are late Sept and even into Nov in the NE. Meaning the amount of "August" players they have to deal with would be 2x or even 3x more than around here. It would be impossible to try and manage them all one by one you'd have to relay a single statement that everyone would abide by.

"Literally MF, PSA, PF, Copa all indicated either on website or publicly on video that they plan to group August September birthdays on their grade in school team."

And it's directly challenged by someone who says they are at one of those clubs, but OK (more back and forth on that earlier in the thread in fact).

Theres no "challenge" its all you commenting and trying to keep your delusion from falling appart.

Yes, and MF says it'll be more likely with their less competitive state-only teams. Tell the whole truth, dude. If anything, this argument is just as sound as when Aug guy says trust me bro all the teams will go grade-first this even though their FAQs say otherwise.

The reality is this is case-by-case, even when either side says they favor one or the other.

Because the league sets the rules and the teams go by age, not grade

It's an ECNL club, so more relevant than most. The real headline is their FAQ basically shows they won't really go by grade for the national teams because they know it would hurt them competitively.
