Of course they do, but the really important question is: Should they? There are a ton of threads about this. It's a big deal about extra injury risk and how the level is all over the place and if you're already ballin at a national club, why take the risk? |
The ONLY way it's 1 person over there is if Aug guy is arguing with himself (which I've seen happen in comment threads. There are trolls who play both sides just because). But that thread seems more legit. In fact, there's grousing how it's the 2nd such thread, meaning, they're kinda tired of this issue over there, too. |
College coaches only care about players Graduating Year or Grade in school which is why they don't care what age group you play in. They just want the best players and don't ignore the best players of course. |
And if is about one kid per team, it won't be an issue at all. |
This doesnt even make sense. Your grade in school and level played in club need to align. College coahes are comparing Aug birthdays to all other players in their grade (graduating year) in school. If you're misaligned down a level in club you're instantly worse than all other players your grade. |
You lie constantly nobody believes you. |
Just you -- which is unfortunate because I'm telling the truth that I've not posted there. Everyone else doesn't care or wishes we'd both go away. |
Not instantly worse if you're on a nationally ranked team. |

This was posted (not by me) in the NJ thread (I rest my case):
"Congrats! You are arguing with the infamous Delusional August Guy bro! Logic, reasoning, history, etc. do not work on him/her. That is their super power, they are completely resistant to reality. They have a low-level girl player who they are worried is going to be bounced down to the 2nd or 3rd team because of this change and it has somehow broken their wine-addled brain." |
And to be fair: "The same guy is posting like crazy on DCUM trying to convince parents to play Aug birthday players on grade down teams. Nobody is buying it. If you want to get recruited and play in college you need to play on your grade in school (graduating year) team." |
Sounds like they're reading this thread. |
| Honestly, no one from here SHOULD post there unless they are actually from NJ. It would be better so we can learn from what's happening there vs. infecting their threads with our tired arguments. |
This doesn't even make sense. Being misaligned down a level in club doesn't make you instantly worse than all other players your grade. Too stupid. College coaches evaluate players from transfers to foreign to HS players on good and bad teams. They know how to evaluate the skill and fit no matter your team. It's why they said they don't care what age group kids are in. |
Youve been caught in a handful of whoopers where you couldn't back up what you were ranting about to bulldoze for your DD. |
I think Aug guy has posted there AND one of his opponents from DCUM. The rest of the people who speak from their actual experience with the clubs directly are likely NJ stalwarts. |
