Only paycheck that really matters is mine. It’s best to dispose of seasoned professionals than risk taking a pay cut of my own. In the end, the world revolves around me and every story begins and ends with me. I am the ultimate hero that everyone aspires to be.

I’m not feeling good about being in this “academy” structure. Some ages have no teams, or only one. How is DD going to get “challenged” when it’s 12 players? Oh except seeing less of red team coach. Then again if DD makes white team (if there is one), apparently she can get judged once a season by the “academy coach”? Yeah I’m sure she won’t be nervous then.

Sounded pretty clear that team fees were definitely being returned and refunds given once money returned from leagues. Ok,it would be better if now but at least it’ll come in.

If you think that’s how academy works where your dd will only see an academy coach once than you weren’t listening. They train together each time. Plenty chances for everyone to be seen.

Not ideal situation to be in and I would also prefer to have a discount but it is what it is. My ds team has had plenty of interactions and kept him busy during this crappy situation.

Yeah I heard the “train together” part. About two sentences later “and academy coach will see at least one game, because game is so much more to see a player play.” Hope DD isn’t having a bad day, playing out of position since so few players, or just nervous because this is her one chance.

To me it didn’t sound like the academy coach would be attending the game to evaluate players but that he would be there to observe that the coach and team were performing in the same academy style of play. In academy setting the train together is where the player comparison is done. To me less designation of team color, more chances for my ds and your dd if designated “white” team players.

Oh so DD won’t be evaluated as a player nor for red team, just the team coach evaluated by academy coach to make sure all players are playing the same? I didn’t realize the intent was to really hammer “play the way I show you how to play”. I thought they were teaching the game. I honestly cannot believe this.

Im not with this club but the point of the academy is for all players to learn the same topics, style of play, players challenging each other daily, being observed constantly and getting opportunities to play in best setting based on their capabilities. Isn’t showing them how to play teaching the game? You guys are just twisting every word or not wanting to understand. If my kid was on a lower team I much rather they be exposed to the better players in this environment to help them get better instead of being stuck on a lower team against the same level competition and never getting the chance to move up. I guess some people are just too concerned that their status may change as little Johnny plays on a lower team for one game.

Thank you for the paragraph from "somebody not with this club". Okay. Great talking points from the exact wording last night. Should've answered my question last night:
If this will benefit the white and blue players, how will this benefit the red players? So far, seems like they'll see less of their coach and be forced to play the same way. DS is too young to be limited in his creativity.

Hilarious twisting of words. Your son isn't that good and it's not gonna hurt him to play with other kids. Most likely, all this sounds like is upper white team players getting a chance to help numbers on a given day and a set session plan for everyone. Please be sure to tell us we're wrong once he's a pro, until then maybe calm it down a bit.

OP here (the underlined); just following up the bold comment as requested. Not pro, but much happier. And it appears that I definitely made the right decision. No COVID practices despite more teams, teammates and we've had really felt he's improved a lot.

Good for you being happier. What do you mean no COVID practices. Are you referring to the recent case and somehow making it seem that it was the club's fault? You think your club is immune to it. Could happen to anyone but I hope it doesn't and that this thing goes away. Guess what, my kid is also going out there and is also getting better. Many kids are.

Leave for vacation and I come back to find out DS coach now coaches four teams. Not sure why they thought that would be a good idea.

This might be something everyone at the LMVSC needs to get used to. This league has really failed in communicating what is actually going on in recent weeks. In addition to coaches with 3+ teams, there appears to several ages without coaches at all. Be very cautious, it appears LMVSC will take your money then make a case to why things have changed with the excuse of COVID-19.

Last year, it was not uncommon to see a director at most practices and lots of games. Please let me know how the league plans to address the oversight for the travel soccer teams this year. When JC and FL both have 2-3 teams each, is it actually possible to see them at a practice other than their own? Games? Both seem to be very nice people but are not some superhero.

LB did not think this thru and now appears to have lied to the league again and will not be able to follow thru, much like past promises. Sorry, the pandemic is among everyone and that can cause a lot of current problems. What is the excuse from the eras of EM/KM, EM/JN, JC/FL? The only year (partial) that met promises was fall 2019 and LB has now decided it did not work and came up with more excuses. There has been a lot of turnover in this league and one problem seems to be in each of them. It is likely LB uses each of the former staff and coaches as excuses why things are not working. She may need to be next one removed and hope the league board will make a decision soon before the leageu ends after 50 years in Alexandria.

CCL is set up so all games are back to back to back at the same set of locations. Now does it make sense why the club wants to remain in CCL?

in NCSL, games are at different times, different places. One coach can't possibly cover that many teams in NCSL.

There’s no coaches because there’s no teams. They have lied to us, again and again. By they, yes the staff and coaches but of course they’re just speaking for LB. The board don’t do anything. It’s not too late to leave, and we are. I’d rather play in NPL than a LMVSC CCL team. That’s if those teams are in CCL, which they promised last year they were (and weren’t).

Ooooh, okay. I thought we were in CCL because that’s the most appropriate competition level for DD team. I didn’t realize it was for ease of the coaching staff and management. Which is really weird, because we got sold a false bill considering my DD’s red team will be in NCSL. Not that the academy will help, since there’s only one team

No no no. LB is the academy coach for 2006 girls (CCL, although there is no team) but also the team coach for 2005 girls (NCSL). EE is the academy coach for 2005 girls (CCL) but also the team coach for 2008 girls (NCSL). There are multiple coaches that have multiple NCSL teams.

LMVSC doesn't have a plan or vision in regards to this. They're running out of money and can't afford to pay (which explains LB's email about four full-time directors being unsustainable). JN was fired for who knows what reason, I assume because his teams fell apart. SO was given four teams probably because there was no replacement if he left. So what does that leave? Disarray.

Btw, if the club left CCL, the club could stop paying CCL fees. Costs quite a bit.

Call Alexandria and see if you can move your players there— we did and are very happy. ASA has stability, organization, and NO drama. A rarity amongst local clubs it seems.

Can we move if we've already accepted? Don't CCL clubs have that weird clause?
